For sale is a 1991 Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo.  I will give a brief history:

This car is currently owned by my father-in-law, who, in turn, purchased it from the original owner, his father-in-law.  Here we go:

My grandfather-in-law was a Captain in the Navy.  He purchased this car in Japan, and then had it personally shipped to America.  The car was in an accident, and he purchased the car back from the insurance company and had it completely redone.  In addition, the engine was completely rebuilt at 115k miles.

From October of '07 til now, services include:  New engine wiring harness, reprogrammed ecu, new coils, plugs, wires, and injectors.  The car runs a little rough at idle, but it really runs great when you open her up.  Brakes are a little worn, and muffler sounds like it might need to be replaced relatively soon.  Paint is as would be expected for a vehicle of this age; there are several chips and scratches in the common areas like the ground effects, etc.  Slight rust by the passenger t-top.  the rear-wheel steering has always been disabled since my father-in-law owned the car: we don't know why, and truthfully never inquired about it because its just one of those functions you wont miss unless you really road race the car around town.

Again, keep in mind that this is a 22 year old car so it shows its age, but the interior is very nice, and it was driven by an old man, who sold it to another old man (I'm gonna get slapped for that one for sure).  This car was purchased IN JAPAN and shipped here, keep that in mind as well.  And finally: twin turbo: need I say more?

No warranty is offered, all sales are final, and we are listing this vehicle locally as well, therefore I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.  Feel free to ask questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability.  Thank you for looking, and good luck!

Nissan's new GT-R boss says next car will go for more volume

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Since its introduction in 2008, the Nissan GT-R has seen a steady increase of power and price almost every year, but the big news for the next-gen supercar might be an increase in production. Automotive News recently spoke with newly appointed GT-R chief engineer Kinishi Tanuma who said Nissan needs "more of a volume car." Nissan has sold a little more than 2,000 GT-Rs in the US since 2012 - 1,188 last year and 952 so far this year.
Of course, a key limiting factor in the GT-R's production is its hand-built engine. Currently, only four people are qualified to build the GT-R's twin-turbo V6, but Tanuma says a fifth is in training. Even if production numbers are raised, Nissan also wants to add more quality and value into the GT-R. There is still no word as to what kind of timeframe Nissan is looking to start pumping out more GT-Rs, but with a new Nismo model rumored to be bringing a two-second 0-60 time, demand is sure to be on the rise.

2015 Nissan Micra

Mon, 19 May 2014

Several years ago, poutine started showing up on the menus of a number of Detroit-area restaurants. For those unfamiliar with the Canadian specialty, it involves serving up french fries, gravy and cheese curds all in one artery-clogging heap. It's not really my thing, but the comfort-food dish has caught hold here in The D, and many absolutely swear by it. In a country where we happily serve Double Down sandwiches, and where competitive eating qualifies as sport, it's hard to believe le poutine isn't spreading like wildfire.
Given Detroit's proximity to Canada, it's not surprising that this culinary creation has managed to find its way across the border. The same thing goes for cars - we Detroiters are routinely privy to lots of Great White North imports. No, we can't buy not-for-US vehicles like the Nissan X-Trail, Mercedes-Benz B-Class (at least, the gasoline version), or now-discontinued products like the Honda Civic-based Acura CSX or EL before it. But Ontario-plated examples of these cars can be seen all the time here in southeast Michigan - it's a far more common occurrence than you might think.
These days, it's rare that an automaker will introduce a model to Canada without offering it up in the United States - especially a car that stands to do big things for a company's presence in North America. But with this 2015 Nissan Micra, that's exactly what's happened; Nissan's US arm has repeatedly stated that there are no plans to offer the car in Yankeeland. Why is the Micra so important? This five-door hatchback enters Canada with the coveted title of being the most affordable new car in the country: just $9,998 Canadian (CAD) to start. In fact, the Micra launches to our north just as the larger, four-door Versa Sedan is phased out in Canada - a vehicle that holds the lowest-cost title here in the US, at $11,990 USD.

Nissan recalling 909k vehicles globally over accelerator issue

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Nissan is issuing a massive recall that will see the Japanese automaker repair 908,900 vehicles worldwide, with nearly 100,000 of the affected models in the United States. While an official recall notice from Nissan or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is not yet available, Reuters has been able to confirm the recall with Nissan.
Nissan's recall is kind of the opposite of the Toyota unintended acceleration, in that it covers a lack of acceleration. According to the report, a sensor in the gas pedal can develop faults, leading to a sluggish acceleration or an outright stall regardless of how much throttle the driver dials in. The huge recall covers mostly Japanese domestic models like the Serena, X-Trail, Lafesta and Fuga, which make up for 764,800 of the 908,900 faulty vehicles. However, 98,300 Infiniti M sedans are being recalled in the US, although it's unclear at this time which model years and trims are affected. The remaining vehicles are found in Europe and Oceania, according to Nissan spokesman Chris Keefe.
No injuries or accidents have been reported due to the faults. The 90-minute repair will see techs replace the accelerator pedal and tweak the engine control programs. We'll update this story as soon as Nissan or NHTSA makes an official statement.
