1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST- 2L 4G63 Turbo
Located in Louisville, KY
Excellent condition, professionally built and maintained. This car has one previous owner. The previous owner was a customer of mine and I ordered and installed all of the after market parts on this vehicle. It has been maintained with the utmost care, garage kept and rarely driven in the rain. The original owner sold me the car so he could purchase an Evo. It has a rebuilt Kentucky title. Chassis is in excellent condition with no dents or dings, there are a couple of minor flaws/scratches but is truly one of the nicest '97 Turbo Eclipse still on the streets. The aftermarket parts and money spent on this car between the two owners is over $50K. Parts list below. If you would like additional pictures or information feel free to email, herman@speedparts.biz. I am a professional mechanic, parts retailer, and installation center. You can check me out at speedparts.biz on the web or facebook. I'll be more than happy to help you make this great car your own. It is a very reliable, comfortable, daily driven racecar. The only reason I'm letting it out of my collection is to further fund my drift racing passion.

First off, the bottom end was assembled, balanced and blueprinted by ERL Performance, I personally delivered and picked up this engine from their shop located in New Albany, IN. If you are not familiar with ERL Performance they are used by top tuners like AMS Performance in Chicago, IL.

Mexican police seize engine-powered drug cannon

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

It seems like we're always hearing about new ways in which people are trying to smuggle things into the US from Mexico - including simply driving over the wall. Case in point? Mexican police have found yet another way criminals are attempting to get drugs over the border. Mexicali police have seized what looks to be either a Mitsubishi Mighty Max or Dodge Ram 50 pickup, equipped with what is essentially an oversized spud gun in the bed used to shoot marijuana over the border.
Constructed from a metal tank and a large plastic pipe, The Guardian reports that this drug cannon actually uses a car engine to build up enough air pressure to launch up to 13 kilos of marijuana at a time. Mexicali police were alerted to this truck when their US counterparts found drug packages on this side of the border. As of yet, there is no word as to how the vehicle was caught and whether any arrests resulted.

Mitsubishi ready to pull Evo's plug

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

We have all manner of unofficial metrics in the auto industry. No doubt you've heard some of them, like the butt dyno. Another popular measure is the smiles-per-dollar index - how entertaining is a car versus its price. Cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Scion FR-S and Mini Cooper S, for example, score quite highly, while vehicles like the BMW M5 or Audi RS7 are great to drive, but score lower because of their much higher price tags. For a long time, the king of the smiles-per-dollar index was arguably the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, which blended hair-raising thrills for the price of a well-equipped Ford Fusion Titanium.
Now, it looks like the Evo will need to hand over its title, as this generation of the rally-derived rocket is likely to be Mitsubishi's last - at least for a while. There's been no mention of just when production of the current car will end, so if you're in the market, we'd suggest trying to find a dealer with inventory ASAP. The news comes from the automaker's Japanese mothership, which says the brand will instead focus on utility vehicles and EVs. While there are no direct plans for a successor, an Evo XI as it were, the door remains open for a different kind of beast, according to Mitsubishi.
"Mitsubishi Motors does not have any plans to design a successor with the current concept, as a high-performance four-wheel drive gasoline-powered sedan," said Namie Koketsu, a spokesperson for Mitsubishi, according to Automotive News. "Mitsubishi Motors will explore the possibilities of high-performance models that incorporate electric vehicle technology."

2013 Mitsubishi Outlander GT

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

I'm not a gambling man, but if there were a pool for an automotive death watch, my money would be on Mitsubishi... Lincoln is a close second. To understand the plight of Mitsubishi, you only have to look at its current lineup; they all just look, feel and drive about 10 years older than they really are. With the departure of the Endeavor and merciful killing of the Eclipse (the Galant lives on, but is on hiatus for the 2013 model year), one of the worst remaining offenders is the Mitsubishi Outlander, which I recently drove in top-level GT trim for this Quick Spin.
If we had a time machine and took the 2013 Outlander GT back to 1998, it would be revolutionary. If we could take it back to 2004, it might be near the top of its class. But in the current highly competitive crossover segment of today, the Outlander just falls short. Yes, the all-new 2014 Outlander is on its way later this year, but from what we've seen both inside and out, the new design would look great in 2008. That being said, spending a week with any vehicle can point out surprising highs as well as lows, and there are still plenty of reasons to enjoy Mitsu's midsize CUV.
