Custom 2000 Eclipse Gs 5-speed Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Saginaw, Michigan, United States
For sale is my 2000 Eclipse GS 5-Speed Manual in very good condition. I Installed new Michelin Primacy tires a couple months ago ($200 each) and they are in excellent condition. Brakes are good, Timing belt and water pump was replaced recently as preventative maintenance. Transmission was completely refurbished ($1400) along with a new clutch recently as well. Car runs perfectly, needs nothing. I have owned this car for the last 7 years and have changed the oil changed every 3-4 thousand miles. I planned on keeping this car another 100,000 miles and I have maintained the car to last that long, but plans have changed. Mostly highway miles going from Saginaw to Cleveland. I upgraded to leather seats, and I have a set of cloth seats you can have as well. I have around $2,000 in audio upgrades as well as a $2500 custom Subaru Blue/Black paint job. Other major upgrades include a full Invidia N1 Catback exhaust that costs $600 with removable silencer, Black Enkei Wheels with Polished Lip ($800), and Projector headlights with HID kit. I put in a new battery this winter as well. I also installed new top of the line Spark Plugs and wires last summer, and the oil was changed last month.
Exterior: Enkei EM5 Wheels 17" New Michelin Tires Projector Headlights with 8000k HID's Wings West V-Line Spoiler Custom Painted Smoked tails Smoked turns Smoked Reverse Lights Smoked third brake light painted emblems black Painted gas lid black Painted Roof and Center of spoiler black Painted car Subaru blue effect 18% Tint all around Interior: Automatic Sunroof Swapped in leather gts seats Alpine Double Din DVD Touchscreen Kenwood door speakers 2 Rockford Punch P2's 12" subs Kenwood KAC 7204 1000 watt amp Monster Wiring Stinger Capacitor Whistler Radar/Laser detector Painted Vents Prestige Alarm System with blinking led Glow gauges Performance: Cold Air Intake Invidia N1 exhaust The only negatives are a few minor paint chips but no dents or body issues. Dash has a few cracks up by the windshield, not very noticeable. The check engine light has been on ever since I installed my exhaust due to a sensor, but the car runs perfectly. Air conditioner belt broke so it currently has no AC, I haven't diagnosed if the AC Compressor went bad or not. You can find them for $50 or less at a junkyard if you want AC. 143k highway miles. I have no doubt this car will last for many years to come. Contact me to see this car, I am located in Saginaw Michigan but can meet in Ohio or I will meet within a reasonable distance. Will not ship the car. Contact me before bidding, my email goes right to my phone so I respond right away. You can also text me with any questions at 330-419-1396. Thanks. |

Mitsubishi previews diesel hybrid pickup concept, next-gen EV for Geneva
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Mitsubishi has a long history of tidy little pickup trucks, and the Japanese automaker is apparently looking to extend that heritage in a bolder, bigger way with the Concept GR-HEV, a "sport utility hybrid truck."
The future-think show star, slated to be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, is actually tipped to be a much larger effort - Mitsubishi says it's applying its hybrid technology to a one-ton truck for the first time. The GR-HEV is powered by a complex powertrain composed of a diesel engine and electric motors, which the company believes is better suited to the sort of heavy-duty work required in the segment. The concept also employs full-time four-wheel drive and a development of Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control system (which governs things like stability and brake force control along with an active center differential) as seen on the production Lancer Evolution.
In related news, Mitsubishi has also confirmed that it will show a next-generation electric showcar at Geneva dubbed Concept CA-MiEV. With this new concept (inset photo), the company says it is looking to build on the learnings of its i citycar and take EVs out of their limited urban roles. To that end, the CA-MiEV boasts "next generation EV systems and high density batteries" that give it a range of 186 miles.
Mitsubishi denies plans for Toyota/Subaru rival sports coupe
Tue, 23 Oct 2012Forgive us for being wistful, but there was a time when Mitsubishi coupes and sports cars were the downright awesome. The 1990s brought us the all-wheel drive, turbocharged Eclipse GSX and the twin-turbocharged 3000GT VR-4 (seen here). The times, they were good.
Fast-forward to today, and the Lancer Evolution exists as Mitsubishi's sole, true performance offering. Mitsubishi killed off the Eclipse last year, by which time it had lost much the luster of its predecessors. With an affordable Japanese sports car fomenting underway thanks to Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, one may think that it's an ideal time for a brand like Mitsubishi to jump back into the performance coupe game. A rear-drive Mitsubishi sports car to take on the Toyobaru twins could be just what the brand needs to gain some mindshare among consumers.
Not so, says Osamu Masuko. The president and executive director of Mitsubishi told reporters at the Sydney Motor Show, "Our engineers are very prominent to investigate new technologies, but to use that technology they are not that good to bring the revenue to make that money." Read: the engineers want to do it, but the company does not find it to be financially responsible.
Mitsubishi Mirage bows in Montreal without a name, Canadian sales promised
Sun, 20 Jan 2013The Detroit Auto Show had plenty of major debuts for North American car buyers, but the Montreal Auto Show is being used for the North American debut of a new subcompact hatchback from Mitsubishi. Although this car is unnamed, it is almost identical to the redesigned Mirage we saw back at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show (and has been on sale in Asian markets such as Thailand since last year), but it is unclear if the car will carry this name when it goes on sale for our neighbors to the north starting this fall.
Aside from a slightly less annoying shade the of green we saw the car painted in at the Tokyo show, there are a few changes made for the car's Canadian debut. The biggest difference is that it is almost three inches longer, which is likely a result of the new rear fascia that is also visually different with some altered lines and small, circular reflectors. Other changes include a bigger three-cylinder engine (with a 1.2-liter displacement instead of the Tokyo car's 1.0-liter engine) and headlights that have new amber lenses for side reflectors.
There is still no word as to whether or not we'll see this new car in Mitsubishi's US lineup anytime soon, but it does seem like a good competitor against cars like that Mazda2, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Accent.
