This is a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. It has 199076 miles and is a 320hp twin turbo 3.0L V6 with a 6 speed manual awd transmission. It also has all wheel steering. I just recently replaced the clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, motor mounts, and all brakes and rotors. The clutch is a spec stage 2 plus and the motor mounts are performance polyurethane mounts. I also put cross drilled/slotted rotors with hawk brake pads on instead of stock. The car runs and drives great and overall looks good. It has some scratches on the hood and roof top that are noticeable up close and a few dings on the driver's side rear quarter panel. The front bumper is scraped a little on the passenger side from someone backing into me. During this the front park lamp was broken but I am currently working on getting a replacement for it. Other than the things mentioned the exterior is in overall good condition. The tires are between 25-50% and a couple of the rims have some chrome beginning to flake. The engine bay is extremely clean and everything is stock except for the above mentioned parts I noted. The tranny was replaced with one that had 64000 miles on it at the same time I replaced the clutch and I put in a brand new transfer case. The interior is tan leather and is in great shape except the driver's seat as you will be able to see in the pictures. I have tried to track down a good replacement for it but have been unable to find one so far. However, this is the only thing keeping the interior from being perfect. This is a really nice car and only needs someone to put a little time and money into making it perfect again. I would keep it myself but I am a full time student preparing to go to dental school in the next few years, so I need to eliminate this last debt before I go. I have it listed locally as well and may pull it from auction if someone buys it locally. Please email me if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to answer them.

Mitsubishi hopes to raise $2.5B with stock sale
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Mitsubishi, which dates all the way back to 1870, is one of the oldest business collectives in Japan. Today, the various businesses that share the Mitsubishi name are largely independent of each other. The automotive unit, however, has fallen on hard times over the past few years.
Back in 2004 and 2005, Mitsubishi Motors sold billions of preferred shares to sister companies like Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corp. Now the automaker is preparing to buy back those shares, only to raise the capital, it's selling $2.5 billion worth of shares, simultaneously paying stock dividends for the first time in over 16 years.
The stock issue will reportedly include as many as 241 million shares at a value of $10.73 each. The move is part of a long-term reorganization being implemented by the automaker's president Osamu Masuko, and is expected to help the company double its net income and eliminate all outstanding preferred shares by the end of the fiscal year closing in March.
2014 Mitsubishi Mirage arrives in US this fall
Thu, 28 Mar 2013Mitsubishi dealers have been painfully starved of fresh product for ages now, with their most recent new model, the bubble-shaped i electric car, already requiring a serious sales jumpstart. We've known for a while that help is on the way in the form of an all-new Outlander crossover, but we've basically only had loose confirmations to go on that the Japanese automaker would eventually reintroduce its Mirage subcompact to the American market. Today, those rumors have turned to reality, as Mitsubishi has confirmed that the five-door economy car will hit US dealerships this fall.
Every subcompact player needs a trump suit, from Ford's tech-rich Fiesta to Honda's impossibly space-efficient Fit, and the Mirage's calling card figures to be its fuel economy. Mitsubishi says it expects its 2014 Mirage to achieve 37 miles per gallon in the city and 44 on the highway (combined rating of 40 mpg) when equipped with a continuously variable transmission. Those figures are good enough, Mitsu says, to earn it the title of the most fuel-efficient gasoline vehicle sold in America that isn't a hybrid.
Of course, Mitsubishi isn't outlining any additional specs at the moment - not even engine configuration. We're expecting the company's 1.2-liter three-cylinder, which in European spec delivers a modest 79 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque. The Continent's Mirage weighs under 1,900 pounds, but the normally aspirated triple still makes for leisurely acceleration of 11.7 seconds to 62 miles per hour. It will be interesting to see if Mitsubishi makes some powertrain alterations to better suit American expectations.
Mitsubishi boss says US operations may break even next year
Sat, 23 Nov 2013Mitsubishi has lost money in its North America operations every year since 2007, but in an interview at this week's Tokyo Motor Show, company president Osamu Masuko said, "If things keep going well, it might be the case that we break even this year," Automotive News reports.
A little context: Last month Mitsubishi predicted that it would lower its operating loss in the region to 4-billion yen ($40.7 million) by March 31, the end of the fiscal year, well below the previous fiscal year's operating loss of more than five times that amount. Reflecting that, production at the Japanese automaker's sole North American factory in Normal, Illinois, has grown to 56,630 vehicles through October, compared to 27,339 through the same period last year.
The plant makes the Outlander Sport for the US and for export to markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Latin America. Interestingly, out of the 56,630 Outlander Sports built at the Illinois plant through October, only 20,150 were sold in the US.
