Unfortunately its time to sell my mini :( Chili Red Mini Cooper S model with the white roof. Loaded 6 speed model with leather, premium sound, heated seats, dual mood roof, auto wipers, etc.

Clean PA title in hand, no accident history on this car. It has never given me any problems in the past. It is inspected until June of '14, new Hankook tires installed a few months ago. Breaks still have much life left. All maintenance has been done, oil has been regularly changed every 4k with castrol fully synthetic. The A/C blows Ice cold and the heat works perfect.  The car has a few minor tasteful modifications, Millitek exhaust system (not too loud, sounds awesome!), Alta intake system, MSD coil pack with wires, and NGK one step colder plugs. This car is quick. It runs and drives great!  The service soon light is on because of the aftermarket exhaust system. The clutch is in great condition shifts without any problems at all. The car will need a new throw out bearing in the near future, sometimes you can hear a little rattle, but when you push the clutch in it goes away (which means it is the throw out bearing). This does not affect the driving or shifting ability of this car at all. Factory HID headlights, fog lights, all weather floor mats. The windows are also tinted.
I am selling this car because I am selling my car and bike to put a down payment on a new car. The car is also listed for sale locally. No warranty. If you would like to make an offer please feel free to message me with the number. I am open. Please do not hesitate if you have any questions at all, ask away. Good luck and happy bidding!
If interested in buying the car and bike together, i can make a deal. 2001 Husqvarna 610 Supermoto! 12k kilometers, bike is mint.

Mini knows how you take your coffee after a test drive

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

Mini Netherlands wanted to give its countrymen a good reason to test drive its cars, so it threw in a free cup of coffee with the spin - but not just any old cuppa joe. Cars were fitted with a sensor that analyzed the driver's style. The chip was then placed in a special coffeemaker that produced a blend to match the driving; middle-of-the-road test pilots would get a lungo (long) coffee, test-the-rollcage types were given a ristretto (short, and stronger).
The knock on the head for U.S. drivers? Milquetoast test drivers were given an Americano - a watered-down espresso. You can watch the unique promotion at work in the video below.

Honda engines and giant killing in the classic Mini Cooper

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Electric Federal has taken a fresh look back at the enduring legacy of original Mini with a video interview with Heritage Garage's Graham Reid, one of the foremost experts on classic Minis. As Electric Federal points out, it's important to remember that the Mini did not start out as a performance car. It was built in response to the Suez Canal crisis of the mid-50s, which had a similar effect on British gas prices as OPEC did on American prices in the 1970s - rationing and rapid price jumps.
Through the years, Minis have grown from their budget roots to become seriously competent performance machines. As Reid says, a 150-horsepower Mini on the right track should have no problem outpacing a contemporary Porsche 911.
For some time now, classic Mini owners have been dropping Honda engines under the tiny hoods of their classics. With up to 250 horsepower pulling a car that tips the scales at barely 1,200 pounds, the upgraded Mini is "a real sleeper," Reid says. Interestingly, Reid doesn't mention another increasingly common swap in the Mini community - Suzuki Hayabusa-powered Coopers.

How Mini shacked up with John Cooper

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

The late Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis, Alec Issignonis to his Internet friends, designed a car that was sold as the Morris Mini-Minor, the Austin Seven and later the Austin Mini. Go to the Mini USA website and check out the models, though, and every one of them is called a Cooper of some sort, e.g., Mini Cooper Paceman or Mini Cooper S Roadster. So who is Cooper?
It's probably obvious that it's the same Cooper we get in "John Cooper Works," those JCW Minis that always make up the top of the line. But many probably don't know that that John Cooper, founder of John Cooper Cars, is the same man who accidentally got the motorsports world to switch to rear-engined race cars and the same Formula One constructor who won two titles in 1959 and 1960 and who fielded drivers like Bruce McLaren and Stirling Moss.
On its way to driving the Mini John Cooper Works GP II, XCAR goes back to the beginning to find out when Alec met John, and how the first Mini Cooper came out in 1961, two years after the first Mini. You can watch the story and the car review in the video below.
