This auction is for our 1999 Mercury Villager Estate van. Our family has owned this van since it was new.  This has been a trouble free van and the most dependable that we have ever owned.  It has never had body work done to it and has never had a cigarette lit in it! It has always been kept in a garage.  It is a very clean van with very few scratches. The worst of the scratches are on the rear bumper as you can see in the pictures.  The only stains in the interior are the carpet between the two front seats as seen in the pictures. One of the pictures show that the protective plastic on both sides of the rear entry has never been removed which means the carpet still has never been stepped on! The tires have 50-60% tread left and all match. There are a couple of small rock chips in the glass but they have not developed into cracks. The transmission has a slight leak but is so small that the mechanics can’t find where it is coming from so we just check it periodically.  Has many extra features since it is the “Estate” package. The A/C works great and it also has rear air.

Buyer must make arrangements for pickup. A $200.00 deposit must be made within 24hrs of auction close. This should go without saying but PLEASE make all arrangements such as payment, pickup and deposit BEFORE bidding! Van must be paid for and picked up within one week of auction close. Full Payment accepted as cashiers check or cash. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

Report: Lincoln getting all of Mercury's ad dollars

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

Now that the curtain has closed on Mercury, Ford Motor Company will redirect all of its marketing dollars for the oft-overlooked brand to the Blue Oval's luxury outpost, Lincoln. In speaking to Automotive News, the chairman of the Lincoln National Dealer Council, Bob Tasca, Jr., said, "You'll see a lot stronger presence in the advertising of Lincoln in 2011."
Lincoln spokesperson Christian Bokich reminded AN that the automaker is "preparing the way for seven new or significantly refreshed vehicles" that will be launched over the next four years, and the largest ad blitz in 2011 will focus on the refreshed MKX crossover, as well as the MKZ sedan and its hybrid counterpart. Following that, Lincoln has plans to launch a completely overhauled version of its Navigator SUV, an all-new C-segment vehicle and the overhauled 2013 MKZ, which Tasca says will be "strikingly different from its Ford Fusion sibling."

NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.

Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.
Thanks for the tip, Gregg!
