One Owner car
I am Selling this 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis 1 Owner car for my dad. He Loves the car and Doesn't want to sell it but my Parents are unable to close the doors on this Classic (Too Big and Heavy). He owned the car 20 Years and has ALWAYS been Garaged.
One owner car. It was Independently Owned before us (Dealer) so it shows we are the only owner on the car.We have a car History report Printed out (Like a Car fax). Car has a Clean Title
We are selling his 1987 Mercury with 86000 original miles. He purchased it in 1992 with 58180 miles and after 20 years owning it now has 86000. The car was a Sunday car and used for family vacation to wild wood New Jersey.
The AOD transmission was rebuilt 4600 miles ago and we have paper work for it (cost $1000 to rebuild)
It has a 5.0 and has original paint. The interior has super soft plush cloth seats and looks brand new and the headliner does not have any sags in it.
The car is in great shape but has normal dings dents and scratches. Car runs great and is a get in and drive car. The only thing broken is the driver side seat belt will not retract.
Items that were replaced over the years were the normal brakes and rotors a tune up tires and battery. Also replaced was the back window (with a brand new one) the heat blew it out
gas and brake lines all the way back cat back exhaust passenger and driver side window motors and upper tie rod to name a few. The car was always well maintained.
Because of its age it is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. The car has antique plates if you live in Pa we can sell the plates for $125 with the car.
Antique plated do not require any inspection or registration on the car.

Kit Cat: Mercury Cougar makes perfect Bugatti Veyron substitute
Thu, 24 Feb 2011Bugatti Veyron kit car - Click above for high-res image gallery
If you've got a pulse in your wrist and a snapping brain cell in your head, chances are you wouldn't mind parking a Bugatti Veyron in your garage. But for most mere mortals, scrounging up the cash for a physics-bending piece of 16-cylinder glory would require all sorts of unpalatable tasks. Fortunately for those who want to look the part without having to participate in human trafficking, the kit car universe has stepped in to save the day. All you need is a 1999-2002 Mercury Cougar, a boat load of fiberglass and a little patience.
Oh, and $89,000.
NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman
Wed, 17 Nov 2010Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.
Thanks for the tip, Gregg!
