1985 Asc Mercury Mclaren 1 Of 257 Built! Mustang Ford Capri on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:25000
Location:

Monroe, Michigan, United States

Monroe, Michigan, United States

1985 ASC Mercury (Capri) McLaren. This car is a true 25000 mile original car!

Car is Brilliant Bright Blue (car was originally white, as you can see from the pic's, door jams and trunk area were painted blue too. Engine compartment is still white). Blue Top (very nice shape, rear window is lightly fogged). Blue Leather Recaro seats (no rips or tears)

There is zero rust on this Florida car! Never been in an accident. Paint and body are very, very nice!

Options are: Power steering, Power disc brakes, Power windows (passenger side needs help to come up, and drivers side window is stuck down, hope to have fixed soon), automatic (just been serviced), aftermarket AM/FM/CD player, Air Conditioning (has been converted to R134, blows ice cold). Door panels, Dash and carpet (sand on the floor mats from the beach), all very nice. Still has the McLaren Wheels and brand new tires. Newer Exhaust System.

This car could be driven anywhere. I just drove it over to Daytona Beach, and it ran great (car does run a little rough when cold and at idle, I think the EFI needs to be gone through). Car does make a little noise on sharp turns from the rearend. I had this same problem on another McLaren, and all I had to do was flush the rearend and add a friction modifier (hope to get this done yet too).

If your interested in looking at the car or want someone else too, no problem, I actually encourage it. This car has nothing to hide. (I have a 100% feedback rating, and have sold cars on here before)

NO RESERVE!

No Warranties Implied. $500 deposit required within 24 hrs. Balance due in 7 days

The car is at my Mom's house in Ocala Florida. Im in Michigan. I only used the car when Im down there.

NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.

Report: Last Mercury for retail business built on Sunday

Mon, 04 Oct 2010

Ford is already well into winding down its Mercury line, and the autoamker has announced that the very last of the soon-to-be dead brand's products built for retail sales was manufactured on Sunday, October 3. The final Mercury Mariner rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Kansas City facility, putting an end to a brand with over 70 years of history behind it.
Even after the Mariner heads off into the automotive sunset, Ford says that it will continue to manufacture a handful of Mercury models for fleet and government service for a while longer, though mum's the word on how long we can expect that practice to continue.
Interestingly enough, according to USA Today, most incentives on Mercury vehicles have all but dried up, even as the brand's August production increased by 120 percent compared to July's figures. Instead of cash on the hood, some areas are offering no-cost maintenance or similar programs. Even so, Mercury has continued to out-sell Lincoln right to the end - besting Ford's luxury arm's sales by nine percent in August.

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
