Extremely Rare Mercedes Sl500 Vitt Edition 2004 - Only 33k Original Miles on 2040-cars
Marina, California, United States
Mercedes (VITT SL) - Extremely extremely rare! only 2 known of in the US and this is one of the two. Its a pampered 2004 VITT SL500. Two things to note about the car and considered in the offered price of the car. 1) The car has a salvaged title due a minor hit to the rear quarter panel in the same year it was purchased new. No damage at all to the frame and everything was fixed to the highest standards and drives like a dream with absolutely no issues . 2) The power top can be operated manually or can be fixed cheap (Part around $700 on eBay, labor around $200) I just don't have the time to deal with it with my current schedule. Other than that, everything else works perfectly and the car is very reliable. As a collector car, it has only 33K ORIGINAL miles and was stored in a climate controlled garage. $40K+ of additions alone. $8K + WALD Exchange (3 pc) wheels. Its a true exotic super car. It stands out more than a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Priced for a quick sell due to a move and downsizing. The car is being sold as is by a private owner. To be viewed by appointments only on weekends. Serious inquiries only please. Car is located in Monterey/Marina area. Buyer responsible for shipping fees and arrangements. I will gladly assist in any way I could. Best of luck, the new owner will realize the amazingness of this car as soon as it is driven. Not to mention all the recognition this car gets while simply parked, driven or showed. It sits perfect, wide, elegant and folks have taken many pictures of it. |

Maybach and Aston Martin alliance talks fall apart
Tue, 27 Sep 2011If you have, like us, been salivating at the notion of a new generation of Maybach and Lagonda ultra-luxury crafts built by Aston Martin, we've got some bad news: According to reports emanating from Germany, talks between AML and Daimler have broken down.
The proposal under negotiation would have seen Daimler outsourcing production of the next family of Maybach models to Aston Martin, which in return would benefit from Mercedes-Benz platforms and engines - not only for its svelte GTs, but also for its own future Lagonda line of limousines and luxury SUVs. That, and a boatload of money - or at least that's what AML was reportedly seeking, an issue that served as the stumbling block over which the deal reportedly collapsed.
That's not to say the two parties couldn't still reach some sort of a compromise, but short of that, Daimler may opt to either shut down Maybach altogether, find another partner, or take another stab at building new models internally.
2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Sport
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.
Mercedes A45 AMG in downhill battle with slipstream skateboarder
Mon, 30 Sep 2013We're told it takes "performance, control and expression" to pilot a longboard skateboard down a mountain road, and that those happen to be the same values embodied in the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. That's how the two came to be combined in a black-and-white short film called Silver Slipstream.
There's no talking, no engine note and no color, just some music, a 'boarder and a car on a long cruise down the Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape of South Africa." Despite that, it's actually a pretty entertaining video of the latest Mercedes-Benz hot hatch married with extreme sports. You can watch how it all goes down in the video below.
