Here is a great deal for someone who has always wanted an S-Class Mercedes-Benz.  I fell in love with the 2000-2006 design for the S-Class which is why I ended up finding this one.  I can tell you when I was shopping around for one, I did not want to purchase one with “high miles” on it but after driving one now for a year, I know that these cars are solid and last a very long time.  The transmission on this car is solid along with the engine and will last for many more years and is just a pure joy to drive even on the highway as it averages 20+ miles per gallon.  I am a car enthusiast and baby my cars with whatever they need and always keep on maintenance and then some and have brought this car up to excellent running condition.  I have invested over $4,000.00 in maintenance alone so who ever purchases this car can be guaranteed to a have a car that is in great running condition.  One “weak” spot on these cars is the Airmatic air shocks but this S-Class’s shocks are in excellent condition and do not need any attention whatsoever.  I am deploying at the end of the month and do not want to put this car in storage while I am gone hence the reason I am selling it but there are some projects I wanted to do to have not yet had the time to finish.  I will be listing these on the list of items to perfect the car’s condition if you are a car enthusiast like me.  This was an $88,000.00 originally new and is loaded with most of the options available for this model year which include heated and cooling front seats, front seats also massage, rear seats also heat and cool as well as recline, CD Changer, Navigation System, Moonroof, Tinted windows, Rear A/C and Heater, XM Radio, Electric rear sunshade and electronic rear trunk.

Here are a couple of things to take note: the car does have a salvage title because it was hit in the rear while it was registered in the State of New Jersey.  This has not impacted how the car runs whatsoever, maybe you might be able to have it taken out of salvage status?   Because I am deploying at the end of the month, I am offering as an incentive to whomever purchases the car, free delivery from my garage to yours at the Buy-It-Now price, so I will deliver the car directly to you.   Taking into consideration the cost of gas and mileage, I can only offer free delivery to the western half of the country.  I may consider delivering the car to other states in the Midwest/East coast for an additional fee to cover the costs of getting it to you.  Please contact me if your State is not listed below for free delivery.  Free delivery is offered to anywhere in the following States:

Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming , Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana.   If you live further east from these states, the extra cost would be for the price of fuel to get to your state will be approximately $200.00 more.  I can give you an exact price if you let me know where you live.

I promise to you that as soon as your payment has cleared, I will be enroute to your location to deliver the vehicle, which will come with a full tank of premium gasoline.

Now, what is wrong with the car?  Nothing keeps the car from operating like it should, but there are a few issues that you should be aware about:

-Dash/Display: It functions but shows a malfunction in the display and the ABS light is on.  After having the ABS system and computer thoroughly checked by an independent Mercedes shop, there is nothing wrong with the ABS system and the display has incorrectly lit the warning light on.  The display will need to be swapped out with another and a check on YouTube will show how easy these displays are to replace with another.

-Front Driver and Passenger Seats- They have tears in them, or more likely cuts.  I was going to swap them out rather than repairing them as I think that would be a more cost efficient option, plus look better.

-Rear Window has crack- There is a crack inside the rear window, this was actually the reason the previous owner was selling the car as the antenna fin was pushed down by a lift in a garage and the end result was a crack in the window.  I never got around to fixing it as it was lower on my priority list given it was okay, just had a cosmetic defect in it.

-Front Passenger Door: All of the cars close “automatically,” with assistance from an internal air system.  The air hose in the door obviously has a small leak in it as it does not close automatically and that part will need to be replaced or repaired.  The door closes just fine if you manual close it, it just won’t do it automatically like the others.

-There are “typical” scratches found around the car, some chips in the paint can be found.

-Driver side mirror has a crack in it.  The right side does not move and may need to be replaced if it can’t be repaired.

-The trunk current does not open/close on its own because the hose with the air that operates the pump in the trunk is leaking.  The hose would have to be replaced/fixed or the pump itself could be replaced.

Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG coming to the New York Auto Show

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz showed off the CLA45 AMG at a private event on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, but was determined not to let it be photographed. We can talk about it, though - after all, a teaser image was released to promote the new Sony game Drive Club. The CLA45 AMG will use the same powertrain as the A45 AMG, which means a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. And that means a small four-door coupe sedan with the highest horsepower-per-liter in the segment. It will shift through the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, should also run out of speed at 155 miles per hour and have that three-stage stability control system.
As with its hatch sibling, the CLA is already so aggressive on the outside - and the parent company so anxious not to demolish the sedan's 0.22 coefficient of drag - that not much has been done to the cranked-up CLA. Even the rather thin tires on the standard only get a little less thin on the hotter variant. Inside will be the telltale AMG signs, with lots of red detailing and that flat-bottomed wheel among the giveaways. We'll know more later this month when the wraps come off at the New York International Auto Show.

Aston Martin signs Letter of Intent for technical partnership with AMG

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

A little over two months ago came reports that Daimler and Aston Martin were in talks, again, about "supply and technical-cooperation agreements." The next step has been taken with Aston Martin announcing that it has signed a Letter of Intent that looks "towards a technical partnership" with Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and the two companies aiming to have definitive agreements done by year's end.
While it will get to use certain electric and electronic components from AMG, the true golden egg for the maker of the Vanquish will be the ability to develop a new line of "bespoke V8 powertrains" that will be fitted to "a new generation of models." In return for opening up the larder, Daimler will get a non-voting stake of up to five percent of Aston Martin.
Nothing else is being said about the tie-up for the moment, but there's a press release below with a few more details.

Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing debut 2,220-HP electric motor boat

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell, stretch it and take off the wheels then make it float and you've basically got the just-unveiled Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept. Powered by an all-electric powertrain that offers 2,200 horsepower and 2,213 pound-feet of torque (and uses "numerous components" taken from the not-quite-as-yellow SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive), the sleek concept is being called the "world's most powerful electric drive powerboat." What that means is a top speed of over 100 miles per hour from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries and two banks of six liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. And the 240 kWh of total energy should provide plenty of juice out on the water.
Launched (but not literally) at the Miami International Boat Show today, the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The boat is 38 feet long (much longer than the 15-foot SLS) and is plastered with AMG branding on the sides and top of the bow above the matte chrome yellow paint (officially called AMG Electricbeam mango). Two 220-kW chargers can refill the batteries, dockside, in about seven hours.
The idea of a powerful electric boat is nothing new (Henrik Fisker talked about a plug-in hybrid watercraft late last year), but this is the first time we've seen Mercedes put its EV technology on the water. Anyone who's afraid of driving an EV in the rain should take note. Check out the complete press release below.
