Introduced to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1991, the all new redesigned Mercedes-Benz S-Class (codename W140) continued on with the Mercedes-Benz theme of being the most over engineered car in the world. The S-Class was the first to introduce double-pane window glazing, power assisted soft close doors and trunk, electric windows which lowered back down if the car detected any obstructions in the way, a heater that continued to heat the car once shut off if the occupant desired and some of the most advanced safety technology ever found on a car. The W140 S-Class is considered to be the last of the true “Over Engineered” Mercedes-Benz cars, with class leading technology, build quality and performance, the W140 S-Class marks the end of a very long era.

I am selling my 2-owner Minnesota Driven (Summers only) Heathermist Gold on flawless Tan leather 1999 Mercedes-Benz S320. Having traveled only 61,809 documented miles from new. This S320 left the Mercedes-Benz dealership in early 1999 at the price of $68,595. Absolutely no rust on this stunning Mercedes, and having only been to a Mercedes-Benz dealership or Mercedes trained technician for any of its service needs, this car runs and drives like the day it left the showroom. (Feldmann Imports in Bloomington, MN) Or (Sears Imported Autos in Minnetonka, MN) The suspension and steering is so precise and the ride is so superb. The transmission shifts effortlessly without any hesitation, or grinding, the engine starts right up and idles beautifully. All of the power equipment work and function as it were designed to. The car features double-pane one touch power windows, power folding mirrors, tilt and sliding power glass sunroof, 12 way power driver and passenger seat with three position memory settings, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, automatic monochromatic diming mirror with three homelink settings, rain sensing windshield wipers, heated headlight washers, driver and passenger front and side airbags with BabySmart Technology, PreSafe technology, ABS with Brake Assist, ASR traction control and ESP traction control, Bose premium sound system with factory power antenna, keyless entry with alarm and dual zone automatic climate control with cabin filter. The soft shut pneumatic doors and trunk work perfectly. This S320 is completely stock and original and having just completed a major service a little over a 20 miles ago, which included an oil change, ac recharge, new plugs and wires, lower control arm bushings, coolant flush, and a transmission flush. This Mercedes-Benz S320 has been meticulously maintained and cared for throughout its life, the gorgeous Heathermist paint shows almost no flaws of any kind, the perfect tan leather looks amazing, and the back seat looks like it has never carried a passenger. The wood and chrome are stunning throughout the entire car, all of the plastics and trim pieces look new, the carpets are near perfect without any stains or tears. This is a non-smoking Mercedes and still has its unique Mercedes-Benz smell, even the factory 6-hole wheels still have their beautiful polished aluminum high gloss finish. My car has a clean car fax, and Minnesota Title, with no leans or pay off! Original owners manuals, warranty cards and books, service books, roadside assistance book, window sticker, leather book case, its original tool kit, spare and jack in the trunk. Three Huf factory cut Mercedes-Benz switch blade keys, and the original valet key are all present with the car. This is your chance to own a beautiful, low mileage, no stories Minnesota car, no expense spared maintaining this car to factory specs.

Please call or email if you have any questions on this beautiful Mercedes-Benz S320, or if you would like to schedule an inspection or test drive.

Mercedes testing C-Class plug-in hybrid modes in Germany

Wed, 07 May 2014

Testing appears to be underway for what would be the first Mercedes-Benz C-Class with a hybrid powertrain. We can see a pair of the prototypes undergoing testing in Germany, with one, a C-Class Wagon, still heavily clad in camouflage and featuring a more noticeable outlet on the passenger side of its rear bumper.
There's also a more production-looking sedan, which features a not-so-discreet flap over its rear-bumper outlet. It's difficult to speculate on power outputs for this fuel-sipping C-Class, although our spies seem to think that this car will feature some combination of a four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor, although just which four is unclear (note, we wouldn't mind if MB fit its 2.0-liter turbo with some batteries and motors). Regardless, the four-pot/electric motor seems like a pretty reasonable combo, although it probably means that Mercedes won't be challenging the six-cylinder-powered system of the BMW ActiveHybrid3 any time soon.
When the plug-in C-Class arrives later this year as a 2015 model, it will likely offer a full range of driving modes, including both gas or electric, only, as well as a more traditional hybrid mode.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed again in 1:18 scale

Fri, 10 May 2013

There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.
This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.

Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.
The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.
