'01 Mercedes Benz S430 157k Good Running, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Slingerlands, New York, United States
Hello, Up for NO RESERVE auction is my 2001 Mercedes Benz S430. It has 157k miles on it. This Mercedes runs great and has a fresh synthetic oil change. The good is it has new front brake pads and all the options like the moonroof, air cond, power windows and seats and the heated seats all work. The bad is the drivers door window is cracked and it has been this way since i got the car. Still goes up and down fine. The car has some rust that I think is pretty fixable. Does not look to be rotted through but is bubbling some of the paint on the fenderwells and at the bottom of the doors. Will need tires to pass inspection. Interior carpet could use a cleaning. Its not filthy but could be improved. Front rotors are warped so the pedal pulsates. The rotors are only $50 at pep boys.Has some broken plastic trim on the drivers seat. Has 1 new Airmatic strut. Air suspension sometime lowers after a few hours of sitting sometimes it takes a week of sitting sometimes it does not lower at all. Other than that air suspension operates as it should. SRS light is on but no other warning lights are on. Have gotten 30 MPG on the highway.Great for a 285HP V8. Can email more pics. For sale locally so I will end auction if it sells. Local pickup only. You are welcome to come see it before auction ends.

2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Now Even Sharper Than The Razor's Edge
There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.
Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
You can watch Harris divine the answer via a lot of drifting through the snow and a drag race in the video below.
Mercedes-AMG teases GT interior, announces fall 2014 debut
Tue, 15 Apr 2014Mercedes-Benz opted to tease the assembled media at its post-New York Auto Show party, showing off a pair of images of the exquisitely crafted interior of the highly anticipated successor of the SLS AMG - the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG GT.
Slated for a debut in the fall at either Paris or Los Angeles (we're betting Paris), you'll note straight away that there's something wrong with this car's name. Where's the "Benz?" Well, it's been ditched to, as Mercedes says, "make the dream of the authentic Mercedes-AMG sports car come true." Sorry Karl.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before," said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.
