Purchased late in 2007 to take the Grandbabies around! The car spent most of it's time out of the salt areas so you will see it is rust free for the most part. The car will need work. The ASR light is on. That means that the throttle body will need to be rewired or updated I'm sure. The resonator in the exhaust has a hole now so it is a little loud. The M104 motor runs strong!! Starts right up and goes down the road with great power. The transmission shifts in all gears but is slow to go into reverse. Since the car has been sitting for a few years the car shifts late into 3rd and 4th gear but always does. The top is old. The headliner is old and sagging. There are 9 hydraulic cylinders that operate the top. The one that locks down the back has sprung a leak. This car was $85,000 new and is the last of the hand made Mercedes. The seats are dry. The back seat has a hole in the backrest and I am not sure why. The seat heaters work nice. The blower motor works sometimes and that tells me that the regulator for the blower motor is going. All of the windows work, the top pump works, the headrests in the back work. The locks work. What a fun project! The tires are ok but a bit dry. The brakes function just fine. The battery works fine. The air conditioning I bet needs work as well. These featured burl wood trim on the dash and door panels. The seat belt presenters work fine. The car has not been exercised in a few years but the pictures were done 1/11/14. The car has some dings, and some scratches but is solid as a rock. Has no evidence of any body fillers to cover up issues. No accident damage. I have a clean title in hand ready to transfer. I have 3 Convertible Mercedes and a 2001 CL600. No EXTRA FEES in these auctions for you. Please don't be offended but you will see why I mention this. NO NEW YORK Residents unless you are a Dealer please. As a car dealer I would have to have these cars New York State Inspected in order to transfer the paperwork to you. We would love the car to be sold as nice project that will be gone over carefully and properly fixed up so it is safe and beautiful. MAKE AN OFFER and my Father and I will do our best to accomodate you. Uship is a great place for a quote on shipping this car. The car will run and drive up on the truck with no problem. I will take care of you on this end. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and we will discuss that questioin. If the car isn't for you and you know of a pal that would love it PLEASE let them know for us. Thank you! Firing of M-B boss upheld

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Ernst Lieb, the disgraced former CEO of American operations for Mercedes-Benz, will not be getting any more money from the Silver Arrow'd teat. His wrongful dismissal suit against MB's parent company, Daimler, was tossed out of a German appeals panel. This, followed the initial rejection by a lower court last year.
According to court documents acquired by Automotive News, Lieb was found to have "accepted payments of substantial value to which he - as he was aware - had no claim."
Lieb took over American operations from former CEO Paul Halata in September of 2006. Reports surfaced in October of 2011 that Lieb was dismissed from his posting at MB, with a variety of rumors swirling. Eventually, news broke that financial wrong doing was responsible for the German's firing.

Mercedes CLA45 AMG Racing is ready for a spot on the grid

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Mercedes-Benz trotted out its CLA45 AMG-based racer at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. We first showed you the sedan in the deluge of news and reveals that precedes most good auto shows, and were blown away by the car, formally known as the CLA45 AMG Racing Series.
We were strolling by the Mercedes stand, and figured we'd pop in and take a look at the new racer and its carbon-fiber body panels, gutted interior, and race-sourced aero parts. It's a looker, both as a road car and a track weapon. It's not clear what series the CLA45 AMG will qualify for, although it does seem like a shoe-in for the World Touring Car Championship. Let us know what you think of the CLA racer down in the comments. In the meantime, we've got a full gallery of live images up top, along with the stock images that were posted last week on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook page.

Porsche teams with Delta airlines to woo VIP passengers

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

The next time you're waiting for a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, see if you can spot a Porsche Cayenne or Panamera zipping between aircraft on the busy tarmac. The high-performance German vehicles aren't there practicing for an upcoming autocross; they are tasked with whisking some of the airline's most important customers between flights so they can keep their busy schedules intact.
Launched nearly two years ago, the program has proven popular with the automaker, airline and passengers as all benefit from the unique arrangement. Atlanta-based Porsche is able to showcase its cars to Delta's frequent-flying Medallion members, the airline is recognized for providing unusual perks to its high-value customers and those fortunate enough to be surprised with a quick lift are able to make connections without a stressful run through the terminal. Based on its success, the airline is rolling our similar programs in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis this month.
And don't think Porsche is the only automaker working with an airline to entice its frequent flyers. Mercedes-Benz ran a program over the summer that offered purchasing and leasing incentives to MileagePlus Premier members of United Airlines, and the two are currently shuttling top fliers around Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the automaker's S-Class and GL-Class models.
