Here is a well maintained 2002 Mercedes E320 Wagon with 78,387 original miles.  My family is the original owner of the vehicle and it passed through an estate to me about 3 years ago and has been used as a spare vehicle by my family.   The vehicle is in overall very good condition, with all rust issues and minor dings/dents repaired about 4 months ago in anticipation of the vehicle going to college with my daughter.  She would prefer a sportier vehicle (imagine that) so this car is now for sale.  The interior is well above average with no tears in the original seats, no cracks in the orginal dash and interior materials  and only minor stains in the carpets.  Shortcomings of the interior are a missing button on the radio, a sticking center console cover and one of the dash lights needing replacement. All the major systems work great including the A/C, power door locks, windows, cruise control, sunfoof, etc. The car drives well with newer tires and brakes.  The idle is a litttle rough at start-up and the vehicle would benefit from a full service which has not been done in about 18 months (oil changes, etc. are current).  The only real negative about the vehicle is a very minor rear end collision showing on CarFax from about 7 years ago, as I remember my mother was bumped exiting a Publix and the police were right at the intersection.  Since I have maintained the car all these years, I am not aware of any service related issues associated with it other than a scrached bumper.  Lets make sure we go through the basics here on the vehicle.  It is a used cars, the vehicle is sold 'as-is' and 'where-is' & there is no existing or implied warranty. I am sure I have missed a scratch, an interior imperfection, a minor mechanical issue, etc.since I only infrequently drive the car.  However, I am a 10 year member of E-Bay with 100% feedback, I have bought and sold vehicles, boats, etc. and I can assure you this is a sold car and well represented in the ad.  Questions are welcome, drop me an e-mail and I should get back to you quickly. As far as shipping and out of state sales, I will help you as much as possible however this is not a car business and we do not have access to shipping, extended warranties, financing, etc. so understand you need to take care of these things with only help from me. Local inspections are fine, please e-mail me and I will try to make accomodations (friday evening or weekends).  If you have negative feedback, no-pay strikes, etc. please contact me before bidding,or, I will cancel your bids.  Do not contact me 48 hours after placing a bid for permission to cancel or 24 hours before the listing ends. Do not request owner financing, crazy terms or for some convoluded transaction. Sorry to be so strict; however, it is not my intent to keep listing this vehicle and have my time (and that of sincere bidders) wasted.  Well good luck bidding and thanks again for looking.

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

2011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

Mercedes-Benz releases US-spec 2014 Sprinter details

Mon, 06 May 2013

Last week, Mercedes-Benz released the details for the updated 2013 Sprinter intended for global markets, but this week it has announced what changes are being made to the US-spec version of the van for the 2014 model year, including the Freightliner model. As expected, most of the changes made to the European model will be present on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when it goes on sale in the US, which is expected to be this fall.
The biggest difference between the Sprinter announced last week and the one headed to our shores is what is found under the hood. While European Sprinters will come with diesel engines and offer the availability of a supercharged four-cylinder gasoline or CNG engine, US Sprinters will still offer the 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC diesel. This year's Sprinter now comes standard with a new base engine, the 2.1-liter four-cylinder BlueTEC diesel. This smaller engine will produce 161 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and will be paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission; the optional 3.0 V6 puts out 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed auto.
Fuel economy for the new Sprinter has not been announced, but Mercedes-Benz has made numerous changes with the goal of improving efficiency. To this end you'll find a new, low-friction rear axle and the optimization for the generator, fuel pump and power steering pump.

Mercedes has already booked 30k orders for new S-Class

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

When Toyota snags 30,000 Corolla orders over a three-month span, it's entirely possible we're in the midst of a global economic collapse and that the end is nigh. That's because the scale for Toyota is so very large. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, operates on a much smaller scale, particularly when we talk about its higher-end models, like the S-Class.
In 2012, Mercedes sold 65,000 of its flagship sedans in Germany and the EU. That's 178 units per day, for 365 days. Based on that, you can imagine the excitement at Stuttgart when it accepted 30,000 orders for the new S-Class in just three months. That's an average of 333 per day on a continent with a notoriously shaky economy. Now, admittedly, this enthusiasm could wane as the refitted S-Class becomes more common and Mercedes achieves market saturation in Europe's many chauffeur and livery services, but Mercedes isn't choosing to look at it that way.
"The new S-Class has already jumped back into the lead in terms of new vehicle registrations in Germany and its neighboring European countries," Mercedes-Benz head of sales and marketing, Ola Kaellenius, said in a statement last week.
