Silver 2004 W209 Mercedes Clk320 Convertible on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Immaculate Benz convertible, with 73,800 original miles. Silver on charcoal leather, with black soft top. I've garaged kept it and you can tell the previous owners did as well. No accidents, clean carfax/carcheck, and a completely overhauled convertible system, no leaks in the roof either. Brand new front struts and brakes, and Goodyear Eagle Sport tires all around. Just had the convertible pneumatic pump and several limit switches replaced, so you won't have to worry about the top for years to come! Recent oil change with thousands of miles until Service A or B are due. I'm not the first owner, but was able to obtain the service history from MB, so no worries or surprises. Amazing gas mileage for a V6, car usually averages in the low-mid 20's city/hwy. Incredible handling and road manners, even with the 320, the car has unbelievable power when needed! I've owned a lot of cars, and this one is the most fun to drive on the highway. Both the heat and AC work like they should! Nice and warm, and super cold. The only physical flaws are small chips in the paint, and "curb scuffing" of the rims. If you would like specific pictures or have any questions, please feel free to ask and I would be happy to assist you. This must take place BEFORE you make an offer or click buy it now.
(The only malfunction on the car is the Tele Aid emergency phone system. HOWEVER, since the car is an 04, and the cell phone system is analog, it wouldn't work anyway since the US switched to digital in the mid 2000's. MB charges about 1500-2k to switch the phone system to digital. It's really not worth fixing. Also, the headlight washers are not working. Not sure if it's just a fuse or something else.) Features and Options: *Auto on Bi-level Xenon headlights, with halogen front and rear fog lights, with power headlight washers *Automatic rain sensing windshield wipers *5 Speed Automatic Transmission with Comfort or Sport Settings *Light blue solar tinted MB windows. *Automatic dimming rearview and side mirrors. * 205/55R16 V rated Goodyear Eagle Sport tires with 2300 miles on them. Warranty to 50k Miles *Power tilt and telescoping steering wheel *Leather upholstery, heated front seats *Dual zone automatic climate control with filtered air and ionizer *Operation of the Convertible top via the switch in the car or the IR Keys *Side & curtain airbags for both the front and rear seat occupants *Power seat belt extenders for easy reach *Digital fiber-optic Bose stereo system, with 7 speakers and rear subwoofer. AM/FM/WB/CD & Tape *Back seat has separate power blower motor for climate control in the rear *Factory collapsible folding wind screen ($800 option at MB, rare that car still has it!) *Mercedes' ESP slip protection/traction control *Rollbars automatically deploy in the event a roll over is eminent *Local pickup, or buyer is responsible

Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Make way for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the most wonderfully preposterous car I have ever driven.
There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.
Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]
Fri, 31 Jan 2014If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.
