Garaged in California. This vehicle has been well cared for and per my mechanic is considered to be in very good condition.
I recently had quite a bit of work done because it had been in storage for the last 6yrs and I was considering keeping it. However, shortly after completing the work I decided against it as I already have two other vehicles and would have garage space for it. I'm enclosing a list of everything that was replaced and or added: REPAIRS Drain old fuel. Install new battery. Perform oil service. TIRES MOUNT & BALANCE (4) New Michelin tires mounted & balanced. FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS Replaced Lower ball joints. FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS Installed new inner & outer wheel bearings and seals. MAJOR SERVICE IGNITION SYSTEM Installed new air & fuel filter. New spark plugs, distributor capp, rotor, ignition wires, brake fluid & differential fluid. FRONT & REAR SHOCKS Installed new front & rear shocks absorbers. DRIVE BELTS Instlled all new drive belts. UPPER & LOWER HOSE THERMOSTAT Installed new thermostat, radiated hoses & flushed system. Air conditioning works great! 4 Wheel Alignment. TRANSMISION SERVICE Serviced automatic transmission. Installed new filter, gasket & fluids. ADDITIONAL: Installed a New stereo system with Sirus, CD player, bluetooth iPhone capable. Removed all dents and dings. Both power windows, mirrors and locks work. The interior has no sun fading and looks good with the exception of rust and a tear on drivers side, as the pictures show. The exhaust system is in perfect shape and the car sounds great with no leaks what so ever. Rare Isdera Imperator 108i flexes its considerable muscles
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Isdera Imperator 108i is a remarkably rare supercar from the late 80s and early 90s. Born of a Mercedes-Benz concept car, it's powered by a range of AMG-developed V8s, with five to six liters of displacement, depending on the engine. The example shown here, lapping the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, features the most potent 6.0-liter V8 available. And rather than just being driven about on a perfectly clean racing line, it's freaking power sliding!
Yes, there's something eternally childlike about a wedge-shaped supercar from our formative years being flung about a Belgian racetrack. Adding to the appeal is the Imperator's stumpy, periscopic rear mirror, sticking out of the roof. Even after being out of production for 20 years, this is still a wild, wild car and we'd happily snap up the opportunity pilot one of the 36 Isderas that were built. Sat, 19 Jan 2013How much extra value does previous celebrity ownership add to of a car? Really, there's no way to know until the car in question hits the auction block and bidders start raising their hands. In the case of the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing you see above, the celebrity owner is none other than Clark Gable, who purchased it new. After Gable's death in 1960, the car changed hands a few times before settling with Charles Wood in 1975.
A high-dollar restoration was performed in 1989, and period accessories added by Gable himself were kept in place, including the Rudge knock-off wheels and Nardi steering wheel. Any Mercedes-Benz 300SL is worth a big chunk of money. In the case of Clark Gable's old Gullwing, the bidding stalled at $1.9 million here at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale. As one of the 5000-series cars, this 300SL carried a reserve, and a bit of after-the-fact dealmaking saw the car change hands for $1.85 million.

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
