Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
1985 Mercedes Benz 380 SL (W107), low miles, very rare and striking color combination of gold metallic exterior with palomino interior. 56,600 miles (less than 2,000 per year). This car has been babied all its life and it shows and drives as a 2-3 year old car. It is in very good to excellent condition throughout. Truly an exceptional car which can only be described as very elegant. She gets compliments every time she is taken out, Valets and car wash employees cannot believe the condition of the car. Driven only by meticulous Mercedes Benz club female. The car has always been maintained to a high level and has receipts for work done over the years to maintain her in top notch condition. Within the past 2,500 miles she has had the following work done: Complete Valve Job New valve cover seals New timing chain, rails and tensioner New coolant/antifreeze New thermostat & bypass hose New shifter bushings New hydraulic compensators New Accelerator bushings Tune up including new ignition wires New fuel accumulator New distributor cap & rotor New Exhaust hangers New battery New Brake pads & rotors front & rear New Soft top seals New A/C compressor, dryer & switches New Heater control valve New radiator hoses & cooler lines New motor mounts Radiator flush New transmission pan & seal New rear shocks Within the past two years maintenance receipts total over $11,000. If you know these cars you know that they are increasing in value rapidly as collector items. This particular car is exemplary; its condition, low miles and open checkbook maintenance make it an excellent investment. Don’t spend $12,000 to $14,000 for a “good” example and then have to spend thousands for work that this car has already had completed. The air conditioning blows ice cold and the heat functions as it should. The interior and trunk are in excellent condition, with no wear showing on the pedals or steering wheel, all power options work as they should (including the power antenna). The carpets show as new and the seats are soft and supple leather with no tears or rips. The door panels are in excellent condition, the dash is in excellent shape with no cracks or blemishes, as is the steering wheel. The palomino interior is very clean and the color is striking. The trunk shows as new, there are absolutely no stains on the palomino carpet in the trunk, evidence of the care this car has received over the years. The car has always been garaged and there is no sun fading on the interior, the chrome is in very good condition, and all glass is in excellent condition as is the original chocolate brown soft top, with the plastic windows being clear. This has always been a Western U.S. car and there is no body or underside rust, and never has been. The wheel wells and engine bay are very clean. The paint is original and very glossy, with no parking lot dings or dents. The paint can best be described as a good 1 to 2 footer, there are minor imperfections that are not evident until you are 1 to 2 feet away, considering it is the original paint it is in incredible condition. The Chrome Spoke Wire Wheels (Zenith Wire Wheel Company, original cost $2000) are in very good condition. “Goldie” as we call her, is a joy to drive and exhibit to other Mercedes-Benz and Classic Car enthusiasts. Her presence will be missed at our Mercedes Benz Club meets and she is only being sold to make additional garage space, we will be sad to see her go. Hagerty Classic Car place the value on this car at $28,200 to $20,200, representing a condition 1 to 2, this car is a strong 2. Nada Value on the vehicle is $24,400 to $36,100, based on average retail to high retail selling price. With proper care and maintenance, you should be able to enjoy her for many years and see her value appreciate. We have her clear title on hand for transfer to the new owner. Goldie has A/C. Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Brakes, Cruise Control, AM/FM Stereo and Cassette Player. Additional equipped with Premium Wheels, ABS brakes (4 wheel), V8 3.8 Liter, RWD, Original Owner’s Manual and First Aid Kit. The tires have excellent tread but should be replaced owing to age. Daimler employees can set email to auto-delete during vacation
Mon, 18 Aug 2014The Internet has shrunk the world in terms of the way people communicate by making it possible to send an email from Oslo and have it show up in Cleveland almost immediately. But that instant contact has wrecked the work/life balance for many. They get home from a long day at the office, yet they can never fully put their feet up and relax because another hour or more of checking and replying to emails awaits. However, German automotive giant Daimler is putting an end to that churn, at least while its employees are on vacation.
About 100,000 Daimler employees in Germany are eligible to opt-in to a new program called Mail on Holiday, according to The Atlantic. When the workers go on vacation, they can switch it on, and the service auto-deletes all of their incoming email. "Our employees should relax on holiday and not read work-related emails," said Wilfried Porth, board member for human resources, to The Financial Times as cited by The Atlantic.
Mail on Holiday puts a thumb on the scale of work/life balance in favor of a little more free time. The system means that Daimler employees shouldn't even be tempted to check their email on vacation because there's nothing there - and it also avoids them coming back from a relaxing holiday only to find a mailbox packed full of hundreds of unread messages. These days, people are absolutely obsessed with their work, often to the detriment of their health, not to mention spending time with their families and friends. On one hand, Mail on Holiday sounds like the sort of vacation breakthrough we'd need to truly unplug and unwind, but on the other hand, it makes our skin crawl just thinking about the lack of communication. What's your perspective? Have your say in Comments.
2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
We already saw the E63 AMG's aggressive styling last week, but now we have a full assortment of live images for you to enjoy as well as the Mercedes-Benz press release, which is also posted below.
Race Recap: Singapore Grand Prix is about a safety car and submission
Mon, 23 Sep 2013The Singapore Formula One Grand Prix is the Monaco GP of the Orient - a weekend known more for its glamour and time-slot than on-track action, with a temporary circuit that punishes every mistake, usually terminally.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas got the best of Free Practice 1, opening the curtain on a possible resurgence of Silver Arrows performance. By the time qualifying was done, though, it was his teammate Nico Rosberg who lined up second on the grid, followed by Romain Grosjean with a beautiful performance in the Lotus, Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull, and Hamilton all the way back in fifth. Behind them were Felipe Massa outqualifying Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button getting the McLaren into eighth, Daniel Ricciardo with another good Q3 effort to get into ninth, and the shocker of Esteban Gutiérrez getting his Sauber into the top ten for the first time this year.
At the front of the pack was Sebastian Vettel. Again. But he was only ahead of Rosberg by a single tenth of a second...
