Up for auction is a 1984 S 280 Mercedes Benz from Germany. This car was bought by my father in Germany in 1985 and brought over to the U.S. The actual VIN number is WDB1260211A063631 but was not processing with eBay. This car was legally imported from Germany. The car only has 58,000 miles and was garage kept since he bought it. Straight six engine and 4 speed manual. The car runs great but there are some problems. When driving there is a slight gas smell. Also the car will need a tune up (Breaks, Engine Tune up, Balance). The rims are chipping because the chrome is aged. Small crack in one of the tail/head lights. Very small chips and nicks on the paint. This car is a tank weighing in at around 6500 lbs and very reliable. Cars aren't built the way this car was built anymore! Starting auction price will be $4500.00. Happy Bidding!

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
Mercedes FWD platform to last until 2018, convertible and two-seater future uncertain
Mon, 22 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz seems to be expecting a lot of success from its front-wheel-drive CLA-Class. Automotive News is reporting that the sub-C-Class sedan could grow when its second generation arrives in 2018.
The current FWD platform for MB underpins the CLA, the B-Class, the GLA-Class, and the A-Class. The B-Class will arrive in North America as an EV for spring of 2014, while the production GLA crossover will arrive three to four months after that. The five-door A-Class won't be crossing The Pond. Sad faces all around.
According to AN, another model will be based on the front-drive architecture, but it won't be coming to the US market. Set to arrive next year, rumors are that it'll be a wagon version of the CLA, sort of like the ill-named five-door CLS Shooting Brake that is also a Europe-only item.
