Here is a beautiful rare 1969 Mercedes 280S.  The car shows 31000 miles on the car and on the tittle. I also have a millage statement and some service records,  but I can not guaranty the miles, because this is a 45 years old car.  The interior of this car is exceptionally nice. The seats and door panels are in excellent shape.  The carpet is also excellent except a small one inch tear in the carpet behind the driver. All seats and windows and doors function like they should. The dash is in excellent shape,  all gages and instruments function like they should including the factory clock. The headliner is in great shape and the sunroof function like designed.  There is a small one inch long easy fix crack by the corner of speaker cover on the dash. All interior is original and in a great and unbelievable shape.  A true example of Mercedes quality.  The trunk of this car is very nice and clean with out any rust.  It also has a custom trunk mat and all the tools and factory jack.  The trunk is just as clean as the interior. The transmission and engine run great.  The transmission shifts smoothly as it should.
.  The grill , the front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition except some of the moldings have some dings and scratches.  The paint also loo good.  There is some surface rust spots in the lower corner of rear window and also few spots by rear side moldings witch have been touched up. The car drives nice and strait at any speed. The suspension is also in great shape.  I Just spent about $1000 for transmission pan gasket,  water pump, belts etc..  Here I like to quote a gentleman who is the car show judge for the Mercedes Benz Club of America.  He made these comments while I was listing this car for sale.  YOUR CAR HAS SOME INTERESTING SPECIFICATIONS. RARE BROWMN MB TEXT INTERIOR(BRONZE CODE 113) WITH MATCHING "KANGOL" SEAT BELTS.  NO AC BUT WITH SUNROOF.  IT ALSO LOOKS TO BE EUROPEAN DELIVERY CAR.WHERE AMERICANS VACATION IN GERMANY AND BRING A NEW MERCEDES BACK.  A US SPECIFICATIONS CAR.  BUT IT WAS PICKED UPBY IT BUYER IN GERMANY.THE INTERIOR LOOKS TO BE %100 ORIGINAL THE CHROME SHIFTER ON THE FLOOR IS VERY DESIRABLE ON THIS MODLE. THE CAR MUST HAVE COME WITH OUT THE RADIO WHEN NEWSINCE YOU HAVE THE RADIO DELETE PLATE.  A RARE FEATURE.  I AM A CAR SHOW JUDGE FOR MERCEDES BENZ CLUB OF AMERICAAND THIS (W118) IS MY FAVORITE SEDAN.    _benzomaticforthepeople

I like to thank his generosity for allowing me to quote him.

First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.

Maybach and Aston Martin alliance talks fall apart

Tue, 27 Sep 2011

If you have, like us, been salivating at the notion of a new generation of Maybach and Lagonda ultra-luxury crafts built by Aston Martin, we've got some bad news: According to reports emanating from Germany, talks between AML and Daimler have broken down.
The proposal under negotiation would have seen Daimler outsourcing production of the next family of Maybach models to Aston Martin, which in return would benefit from Mercedes-Benz platforms and engines - not only for its svelte GTs, but also for its own future Lagonda line of limousines and luxury SUVs. That, and a boatload of money - or at least that's what AML was reportedly seeking, an issue that served as the stumbling block over which the deal reportedly collapsed.
That's not to say the two parties couldn't still reach some sort of a compromise, but short of that, Daimler may opt to either shut down Maybach altogether, find another partner, or take another stab at building new models internally.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.
