1960 Mercedes Benz 220 SE Coupe, 134 cubic inch, 2.2l engine, 4 speed manual transmission, rear wheel drive. Front suspension-control arm, coil springs. Rear suspension- swing axles, coil springs. Drum brakes. Apprx weight 3100-3250 lbs.

This Coupe is in good shape, the rear panels and rear seat are in excellent condition! The wool carpet is very worn and need to be replaced the head liner has small holes, but is intact. It has stainless steel exhaust. To make this 220 look good it would not take a lot. It will come with all of the additional new parts that I have purchased already. Anyone who appreciates a TRUE CLASSIC will enjoy having this car.

Since having this car I have stripped and redone the undercarriage with POR 15 coating. It had rust in the common areas for this model. The most serious rust was in the right rear trunk and bumper area, all rust has been repaired except on the front fender well. There are 2 none working gauges, gas (cork dried out) and the clock in the radio, which is original. It has 13 inch tires and in good condition, the spare tire is original (none matching). The burl wood dash needs to be refinished. The seats have no damage other than fading and normal ware. The door panels are excellent.

I am the second owner of this car, I purchases it in 12/2001. I have driven it twice..

Mercedes-Petronas AMG W04 launched to little fanfare, lots of pressure [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

No indoor cocktail hour for the launch of the W04, the newest chassis built by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. Instead, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton spent a morning in photo and video sessions at the track in Jerez, Spain then paused a moment to introduce the car. The team will want the W04 to demonstrate the World Championship credentials of the team personnel and one of the team drivers, instead of the mostly humble performances we've seen over the past three years.
The W04 has been fitted with a new five-element front wing, pushrod front and pull-rod rear suspension, a second-generation Coanda exhaust and an "aggressively packaged" rear end. A small vanity panel, à la Infiniti Red Bull's RB9, covers the stepped nose.
Team principal Ross Brawn has called it "a clear step forward in design and detail sophistication," but as much as we truly respect Brawn's abilities and achievements, we heard him say similar things about the updated W03 last year before almost every race weekend from about mid-season. We really hope he's right this time, and so does the team's newest driver, Lewis Hamilton. We'll do our best to ignore the parallels of the Mercedes F1 team having signed a sponsorship deal with Blackberry, another company trying to find its way back to the top and still struggling, and just point you to the video below of the W04 in action.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept crossover leaked ahead of Shanghai debut

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

With just a few days left before the start of the Shanghai Motor Show, images of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept compact crossover have emerged online. The little 'ute is based on the small A-Class hatchback, and though it shares an identical wheelbase, is larger in every other dimension.
Looking like a rough-and-tumble five-door hatchback on the tippy toes of its 20-inch wheels, the GLA is most certainly destined for production in a toned down form that will borrow many bits and pieces from other cars based on this platform like the aforementioned A-Class and the CLA-Class sedan. Carscoop reports that the production version of the GLA will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year, with sales to the public starting in 2014.
Since it's based on the A-Class, we expect that the production GLA-Class will be powered by your choice of Mercedes' 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and a diesel or two, and will offer transmissions that include the company's seven-speed DCT and perhaps a six-speed manual (at least in Europe). If the GLA follows the same path as the two cars before it, expect a GLA45 AMG producing over 300 horsepower, as well. As for what powers the GLA Concept, that just might remain a mystery until the vehicle is officially revealed in China.

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).
