that being said i am a Miata enthusiast and here is what i know about it ***Mechanical*** motor and transmission have 85k miles new timing belt (i replaced it myself) new plugs (done myself) factory exhaust nice and quiet New brake pads New coolant flush New transmission fluid AC just serviced Car starts right up and runs good and shifts smooth even at 6500rpm HAS LSD TORSEN REAR END ***Interior**** Seats carpet and dash all in amazing condition no tears or cracks anywhere. steering wheel has a little ware on it but still a good looking wheel see photos everything works power windows (could use a greese go up kinda slow) power mirrors Factory radio (a rare thing) a few minor blemishes here and there but id say better than most miatas on the market this old ****exterior**** White paint looks good up close there are a few nicks here and there but no major damage....(tough there is a crack in the front bumper shown in photos Top is new (less than a year) all lights work Has Rare 14inch true hollow spoke rims (under 10 pounds each) Tires are old and worn will need to be replaced soon if not right away. not recommended for extended highway driving or in rain until replaced ****Underside*** Here is where i was even surprised This is a true florida car There is no sign of rot or rust anywhere even the heat shealds for the exhaust are in great shape frame rails have a few dents from where the car was on lift but nothing that will effect chassis integrity at all this car also has the optional factory bracing from the rear sub frame to the chasis this makes the car more stiff and solid. All in all a great car for a reliable economical daily driver or a great platform to build a turbo car or track car. any further questions or other photos you may need just ask, i have nothing to hide |

Mazda going back to oval grille with next MX-5 Miata
Tue, 18 Feb 2014The original Mazda MX-5 Miata was distinguished by an oval grille - a design trait that gradually evolved into the smiling cat face on the latest model. But Mazda, according to the latest intel, is planning on returning to that oval grille with the new model in the works.
The revised grille will cap a slightly longer form than models past, while still keeping weight down to a minimum. The stretched wheelbase was reportedly adopted in order to meet the requirements of Alfa Romeo, which is jointly developing the new platform together with Mazda for use on a new roadster of its own.
The new Miata is expected to adopt the 1.5-liter Skyactiv four found in the Mazda3, albeit returned to rev higher and deliver more power and torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic. The Alfa version, meanwhile, is expected to use a 1.4-liter turbo four with a dual-clutch transmission. Sources anticipate the new MX-5 to debut first, possibly at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show a little less than a year from now.
Stock Miata beats bunch of high-powered cars in wet 1/4-mile drag race
Thu, 06 Jun 2013When is a stock, 167-horsepower Mazda MX-5 Miata quicker than a Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise and a Porsche 911? When it's raining. Sort of.
Mazda Canada arranged a unique drag race to show off the fact that the Miata's optional power retractable folding hardtop can go from top-down to top-up in just 12 seconds flat. In this video, all six cars line up for a drag race, and it starts to rain (well, sort of - but you'll have to watch the video all the way to the end to see what we mean). The green flag is waved, and the timer starts as soon as the convertibles begin to put their tops up. But because the Miata's roof mechanism gets the car's roof back up a full 5.1 seconds quicker than the second-place car, the Mazda gets a serious advantage off the line for the actual drag race.

2014 Mazda CX-5 with 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Back in October, we compared the relative merits of two new and very good small crossovers: the 2013 Ford Escape and 2013 Mazda CX-5. The CX-5 we tested then had Mazda's 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine under its hood, and it managed to just edge out the EcoBoosted Ford despite being down by some 23 horsepower and 34 pound-feet of torque. Had it been available, the 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine that we recently had the opportunity to try out in the 2014 Mazda CX-5, it may have made that comparison even easier to call in the Japanese CUV's favor.
Clearly, if you're in the market for a reasonably sized crossover, the CX-5 should, at the very least, be on your test-drive list. The new engine offering will let buyers opt for a stronger powerplant, with 184 hp and 185 lb-ft on tap. On our second day in Austin's Hill Country - the first was spent quick-spinning the 2014 Mazda6 i Sport, you'll recall - we covered a couple of hundred miles and put the new CX-5 through its paces; here's what we turned up.
