This 1980 MGB will exceed the expectations of anyone interested in a sports car of this vintage. While others tout their MGB as having "...the original factory paint color" this vehicle has the original factory paint! There has been no body or paintwork ever performed on this Limited Edition model and the vehicle looks, and drives, like brand new. The MGB has had only two female owners; the original owner kept the vehicle until 1995 and it was then passed to another family member who recently decided to sell since the car had been in the garage for many years and never driven. In fact the vehicle has been driven only about 400 miles in the past 7 years! As can be recognized by the high paint quality, this car has never been left outside its entire life.The Auto Store of Stuart has prepared this vehicle for retail sale to ensure that its new owner will have absolutely no problems of any kind. The engine, transmission, clutch, and brakes are all in excellent condition with no repairs or maintenance needed. The vehicle is 100% rust-free as would be expected for a car that has lived in a garage its entire life-span. To prepare this vehicle properly, all of the following was done within the past month to make the MGB as perfect as possible: - A complete tune-up was performed including new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, carburetor adjustment, v-belt, etc. The valves were adjusted to their proper specifications.
- The vehicle was professionally detailed and simply looks like new
- The seats had a small stitching problem and were replaced with new
- The convertible top was a bit discolored from age and was replaced with new
- All electrical connections were renewed so that everything works exactly as designed
- The Pioneer radio/cassette system is original and works perfectly
- Both the fuel pump and alternator were replaced with new
- The tires are in excellent condition
- An independent MGB specialist was consulted and declared this vehicle in absolutely beautiful condition, both mechanically and aesthetically

The entire automobile shines like the vehicle just left the new car showroom ... not 33 years later!
The seats were replaced because of stitching problems with the original seats due to their age.
Both door panels are in excellent condition.
All gauges work correctly and show that everything is normal. Even the clock keeps excellent time.
Notice that the console has a change tray and not an ash tray ... simply because the vehicle has never been smoked in!
Only the final production run vehicles received the Limited Edition badge since they were specially equipped to earn that distinction!
The engine looks and runs fantastic!
 Both electric fans operate well and the engine runs cool on even the hottest Florida days!
 The engine received a full and complete tune-up prior to this listing simply due to the vehicle sitting for so many years! It performs perfectly with no problems of any kind.
The original Pioneer shaft radio/cassette stereo unit plays perfectly. The MGB came with a two stereo speaker system and it sounds great!
The roadster is totally rust free as one can see from this picture of the trunk and will be seen in other photos below!
The trunk is complete with nice carpeting, excellent spare tire, tools, and jack!
These very good looking alloy wheels are only found on the few Limited Edition MGB models ... and the tires are practically brand new!
The hood insulation is in excellent condition and helps keep the engine noise quiet!
As one can see, this MGB has only been driven a bit over 300 miles in the past 7 years!
The paint is the original factory applied ... no accidents and no paint work on this beautiful MGB!
Original factory paint will vary from approximately 3.5 to 5.0 mils in thickness. Cars that have been re-painted will read anywhere from 8.0 to 16.0 mils thick.
The paint thickness is consistent everywhere on this vehicle proving that the paint is the original factory applied product! It is amazing how shiny a car's finish can be kept if it is properly cared for and garaged constantly.
The MG floor mats and carpeting are all in very nice condition!

CONFIRMATION AND CONSUMMATION OF THE TRANSACTION
- We will contact the winning bidder via e-mail immediately after the auction closes.
- The winning bidder must confirm with us within 24 hours that our e-mail was received. Do this either via e-mail or calling direct at (772) 631-5728. The vehicle may be offered to the next highest bidder if confirmation is not received within this time frame.
- We must receive a deposit of $150 within 3 business days of the auction end time. This may be delivered in person, paid by PayPal, sent via Federal Express, or wire transferred directly to our bank.
- You or your personal representative must inspect the vehicle within 5 business days of the auction end time. If not satisfied with the results, you may cancel the transaction and receive a refund of your deposit in full.
- At the end of the 5-day inspection period you will lose your deposit if the inspection is not performed and you fail to consummate the transaction for any reason deemed to be unacceptable by us.
- Please plan on taking delivery of the vehicle within 7 business days of the auction end time. We will assist with transportation, if desired, but will not participate in the cost thereof.
- The purchaser is solely responsible for all applicable taxes, title costs, dealer documentation fee of $150, and any other taxes and costs which may be applicable.
- We will only collect applicable sales tax if you are a Florida resident or take physical delivery in that state.
- We will process all motor vehicle paperwork only if you are a Florida resident.
All vehicles are sold in an "as is" condition which is why we invite your personal inspection prior to the transaction's consummation. You may count on our detailed descriptions as being accurate at the time they are written but your personal inspection is encouraged. Remember that if you are not satisfied with your inspection your deposit will be cheerfully refunded and the transaction canceled.

It is really quite simple but, the truth is, it can only be followed by a dealership that is very small and very unique. That leaves out about 90% of all the dealerships in the country but for you, the consumer, that doesn’t matter. Our in-stock inventory is extremely small and we are proud of that. Most dealerships boast about their 100’s or 1,000’s of cars in stock at any given moment … at The Auto Store we never have more than 5. So what does this mean for you and how is this beneficial from your viewpoint? Each vehicle we sell is hand-selected and must meet our most rigid of standards. We maintain an absolute rule that no car can remain in inventory for more than 14 days. The majority of our sales come from prior customers who “order” their used vehicle to their exact specifications and we then find the right car for them. While searching for these vehicles, we come across a very select few cars that meet our criteria and are then purchased for our own inventory. The average, well-run automobile dealership will hold a used vehicle in inventory for a maximum of 60 days. To let them sit any longer would be fool hardy and to move them quicker is too cumbersome because of the dealership’s size. During that 60 day period the dealership must pay interest on the vehicle’s acquisition cost, keep it clean, continually advertise the unit and then pay a salesperson a commission to sell it. All of these extra dollars must be recovered, along with a reasonable profit, from the ultimate purchaser of the car. By now you are probably starting to realize why our plan is different and saves the customer a tremendous amount of money. Let’s review: - We sell only vehicles that are hand selected by the dealership’s owner.
- Due to the low inventory level at The Auto Store, our inventory does not have to be financed resulting in no interest costs to recover.
- By selling every vehicle within a 14 day period, our capital is always available for new purchases with no need to finance.
- Each vehicle is advertised once rather than for 60 days at a very high cost.
- The vehicle is sold by the owner thereby incurring no commission expense.
And, the most important reason for our low prices, we do not have a large, fancy highway location with huge buildings and storage lots. The Auto Store of Stuart, due to their low inventory levels, can operate from a small office warehouse that is not located directly on a busy highway. Our criteria for buying vehicles is very simple: The unit must be a very popular model with the best color combinations and in prime condition. The car must have total mileage of average, or below, for the year of the vehicle. The car cannot have been in any prior accidents or problems and it must have a “squeaky-clean” AutoCheck and/or CarFax report.
