This is a one of a kind 2005 Lotus Elise located at Gene Messer Hyundai in Lubbock, TX. Through the years it has definitely been customized.  The original color is an Electric Blue and the previous owner has added a black vinyl (easily removed) to give it a different look.  A removable tablet has been added to the interior with the ability to play radio, MP3, auxiliary devices, Bluetooth and has a Navigation option that may be activated, if the driver so pleases to.  The custom racing seats hug the body of the driver and comes with a Four Point harness to strap the driver in place during races.  Customized exterior features, including Carbon FIber Spoiler / Side Air Intakes / Front Downforce Fins, MRP Side Skirts, Custom Exhaust with a Difflow rear skirt, LED headlights and the Black Vinyl, make this Lotus a head turner driving down the road. The Anti-theft Protection with a disabling feature will ensure that your vehicle will stay where you left it.  The Lotus also limits the RPMs until the temperature reaches a certain temperature.  This will ensure that your Lotus will last for years to come.  The manual transmission is easy to use and very forgiving.  Even novice manual drivers to easily get around town.  With this vehicle, you will definitely have something to show off to your friends as you cruise around town in your new ride. Tax / Title / License fees will be added in accordance with state laws as vehicle belongs to a dealer.

NOTE: The previous owner is ordering matching carbon fiber panels to go on the hood.  This will replace the black panels on the hood, since one is missing and he cannot find any to replace them.  Car will be equipped with the panels once they arrive.

Race Recap: 2013 German Grand Prix is old beginnings, new endings [spoilers]

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Just like at Silverstone last weekend, the German Formula One Grand Prix started with Lewis Hamilton putting his Mercedes-AMG Petronas on pole. The only thing missing at the pointy end of the grid was his teammate Nico Rosberg, who lined up beside him in England but back in 11th in Germany because of a team error in qualifying. So instead it was Vettel in the first Infiniti Red Bull in second, his teammate Mark Webber in third, the Lotus duo of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.
Again, just like at Silverstone - and Canada - Daniel Ricciardo used his magic beans to impress with the Toro Rosso, lining up in sixth, followed by Felipe Massa in the first Ferrari, Fernando Alonso in the second. Jenson Button in the McLaren, Nico Hülkenberg finished up the top ten.
When the lights went green, it didn't take long for the race to become a black-and-blue affair...

Former CEO Bahar files $10.6M suit against Lotus

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

File this one under "not surprising in the least." Fired Lotus CEO Dany Bahar is reportedly suing his former employers for some $10.6 million, claiming that the automaker and its Malaysian owner, DRB, broke the law when they dismissed him. According to a report by Bloomberg Businessweek, DRB and Lotus will defend themselves in court rather than settling, including filing a countersuit against the former top executive.
Bahar, 40, was canned on June 7, about two weeks after Lotus suspended him pending an investigation into his conduct. The report cites a Kuala Lumpur stock exchange filing as its source of the information; the filing also indicates that DRB has decided against selling Lotus, despite continuing losses.

The Stig bungees a Lotus F1 car in Durban

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Remember a couple of months ago when a mischievous Stig broke into the Lotus racing headquarters in Enstone and made off with an F1 car? Well, now we know where he went with it.
In this humorous clip from Top Gear, the tamed racing driver in the white suit disembarks with Pastor Maldonado's Lotus-Renault E22 (not the E21 he took from the team's headquarters, eagle-eye viewers might notice) in Durban, South Africa, and takes it to Moses Mabhida Stadium for the Top Gear Festival. After having some fun on a dirt bike, a chrome Mustang drift car and a few other curiosities, he hooks it up to a bungee cord and jumps off a tower behind the wheel.
Now we're not quite convinced they actually did this and that it wasn't all CGI, but it's still worth a watch and a laugh.
