I purchased this 1979 Lincoln Mark V in Northern Arizona Ivada June, 2013 from its original owner. The car was driven to Las Vegas, Nevada and put in my garage with the intentions of keeping it. My personal plans have changed and have decided to put the car
up for sale here.
Although the car is not showroom perfect it is very clean and does run well. Please review the items I have found need attention. The car does not lack in performance The engine and transmission are very strong.
I purchased the car for quite a bit more than what I'm willing to sell it for here So my loss is your gain on this one
I replaced the front rotors and pads but the lines could use additional bleeding There is some air in the system but the brakes are strong. The car is a bit louder than it should be since there is just a muffler and no tailpipe It would need a cross pipe and tailpipe
and that will make it quiet The muffler is new
The body is very nice It appears it was repainted a number of years ago with good paint There is no filler or bondo that I have observed There is a small crease (pictured) in the bottom portion of the passenger door
For those that know this carI remind you that this was the last year the Mark V was produced in this size
I don't need to tell anyone that it has always been one of the premier 2 door coupe American luxury cars ever produced
A fine automobile to add to any collection or to e driven daily

LA Auto Show recap
Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.
Lincoln scales back free maintenance
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Complimentary scheduled maintenance programs have been great tools for luxury automakers to draw in new customers, but some are starting to scale their programs back considerably. According to Automotive News, Lincoln is joining Jaguar and Volvo on the list of automakers reducing the length of time it will be providing free maintenance to its customers.
Lincoln's four-year/50,000-mile maintenance program first kicked off as an incentive in 2010 and became permanent later that year, but starting with the 2014 model year, this will be cut to just two years and 24,000 miles. This could make short-term leases even more appealing for some consumers, but according to Automotive News, some Lincoln dealers are unhappy with the scaling back. The move admittedly comes at an odd time for Lincoln, with parent Ford seemingly working hard to increase consideration among luxury buyers as it looks to reverse the marque's long decline.
