1966 Hot Rod Lincoln Continental Suicide Door. Black On Black. on 2040-cars
Ladera Ranch, California, United States
1966 Lincoln continental 4 door sedan. Suicide doors. Stock 462 motor strong engine has slight exhaust leak on right manifold to pipe (is not causing any power loss tho) it has an edelbrock 750 CFM electric choke carb. Electronic ignition upgrade. New spark plugs and wire set. New battery. New starter. New solenoid. Turbo mufflers sounds very nice and deep and smooth. transmission is perfect shift smooth. 3 speed. Exterior of car is decent. Has few blemishes here and there and some paint fade it is an older car. As all Lincoln's there was some rust inside the trunk liner on top. (Only visible when trunk is open) It has Ridler black wheels. 18x8 in front (tires new to be replaced) 18x9.5 in rear with nice tires 275/40/18. Just replaced rotor and pads. Car has tint looks very nice. Interior is good. Rear seat has no tears or rips. Front seats are recaro suede buckets with 4 point harnesses. Center console suede. Everything in car works. Gauges lights etc. The car has all the trim and is in good condition not all dented up like the others out there. Taillights are nice and no cracks. Still a very straight and nice looking suicide Lincoln. Due to economy I moved into an apartment and there is no where for me to work on it here as the complex doesn't allow you to do so in the parking lot. I want her to go to someone that will fix her up nice. Car must be towed due to spindle. Thank you. |

Lincoln prepping MKZ re-launch?
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Launching an all-new car is no easy task. Case in point is the 2013 Lincoln MKZ, introduced with the fanfare of a major nationwide marketing campaign, including expensive Super Bowl ads, just as Ford was curbing production over potential quality issues. The resulting mess was nothing short of a nightmare for any automaker - customers visiting dealerships looking for cars that hadn't been delivered yet. Disappointed buyers walked out of Lincoln retailers without new keys in their hands, or switched to a competing brand to fill empty spaces in their driveways.
The impact was painful, as Lincoln's sales in January and February of this year were among the lowest it has recorded in more than a quarter century. Even though March looked a bit brighter, with the supply crisis reportedly over (there are 3,000 units in transit and production is approaching 200 units per day) the automaker is reportedly studying the feasibility of giving its pivotal MKZ the launch it originally deserved.
According to TheDetroitBureau.com, putting the MKZ back on consumer's radar could cost Ford tens of millions of dollars, but that kind of investment may be warranted if potential buyers have forgotten about the new model... or worse, if they have forgotten about Lincoln.
Lincoln scales back free maintenance
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Complimentary scheduled maintenance programs have been great tools for luxury automakers to draw in new customers, but some are starting to scale their programs back considerably. According to Automotive News, Lincoln is joining Jaguar and Volvo on the list of automakers reducing the length of time it will be providing free maintenance to its customers.
Lincoln's four-year/50,000-mile maintenance program first kicked off as an incentive in 2010 and became permanent later that year, but starting with the 2014 model year, this will be cut to just two years and 24,000 miles. This could make short-term leases even more appealing for some consumers, but according to Automotive News, some Lincoln dealers are unhappy with the scaling back. The move admittedly comes at an odd time for Lincoln, with parent Ford seemingly working hard to increase consideration among luxury buyers as it looks to reverse the marque's long decline.
Ford announces four recalls, 1.4M vehicles affected
Thu, 29 May 2014Ford is taking a bit of the spotlight away from General Motors, announcing a major group of recall campaigns, covering a total of 1.4 million vehicles built between 2006 and 2013.
Let's start with the big one, which covers the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and, according to The Detroit News, Ford-built Mazda Tribute CUVs. 915,216 vehicles are covered, all of which were built in model years 2008 to 2011. 736,000 vehicles are in the US, while Canada then Mexico make up the vast majority of the remainder. The problem is due to an issue with the torque sensor in the steering column, which could lead to sudden power steering failure. Manual steering would still be available, though.
"Dealers will perform one of three service fixes, depending upon what diagnostic codes are shown when the vehicle is taken to the dealer," Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker wrote to Autoblog in an email. "They will either update software for the power steering control module and the instrument cluster module; replace the torque sensor; or replace the steering column, which includes upgraded power steering control module software."
