Range Rover Hse on 2040-cars
Columbia, South Carolina, United States
For sale is my beloved 2008 Range Rover HSE. This truck is nothing short of immaculate as the pictures will demonstrate. It has been lovingly maintained and babied since the day I drove it home. No food or beverages, for instance, (let alone cigarettes!), have ever seen the interior of this truck since I have owned it. Consequently it still has that new car/leather smell. Take a look at the carpet. It's showroom clean. If you were to step into this truck, and sit for a moment in the driver's seat you would think it was brand new. If the new owner takes care of this truck as I have taken care of it, it will still be absolutely gorgeous and will still be getting you there in style and comfort for the next 20 years and more. To put things in perspective, the sticker price on this truck, when new, just six years ago, was close to $90,000. This is a luxury vehicle that was built to last. Range Rovers are incredible vehicles with stunning looks, unbelievable comfort, and unmatched capabilities. Don't be fooled, however, by the comfort and looks of this truck. Unlike other luxury SUVs this one was built to perform off-road as well. With adjustable ride height that can be raised or lowered, a maximum of 11" of ground clearance (meaning you can drive through two feet of water) and five different settings for terrain; general, grass gravel or snow, mud/ruts, sand, and rock crawl, this truck can get you thru some seriously hairy situations. Even if you don't use it for off-roading, knowing that in the event of torrential downpours and flooding or even in the event of a couple of feet of snow, you have a vehicle that can still get you where you need to go is a pretty good feeling. With the hill descent feature you can even slowly crawl down a steep hill, or a staircase for that matter, without touching the brakes. Just press the button and let the truck get you down safely all by itself. I cannot say enough about this truck. I absolutely love it. Legendary British pedigree, amazing capabilities, stunning good looks, unmatched comfort and safety...the list goes on. I have always stayed on top of the service and maintenance and have NEVER put anything but synthetic oil and the highest grade gasoline into it. She has been regularly washed, vacuumed and detailed and, as a result, is in excellent shape. Take a look at the pictures and you will see that this truck is tip-top in every way. This is the most luxurious and comfortable vehicle I have EVER driven in my life. That is no exaggeration. It is, without a doubt, a LUXURY SUV. I was sold on this truck from the very first test drive and I'm sure you will be too. Below are some features and specs; Air suspension (airbags for each wheel that inflate and deflate based on terrain) 4.4 liter V-8 305 horsepower 6 speed automatic with a optional manual shift stick mode Customizable powertrain, suspension and electronic systems to handle various road conditions Capable of towing over 7,000 lbs Individual rear-seat climate with rear seat passenger control Premium grade leather with wood accents Harmon-Kardon sound system with six disc changer Sirius Satellite Radio Anti-lock disc brakes Brake Assist Stability control Hill descent control Side airbags in front Full length side curtain airbags Driver's knee airbag Front and rear parking sensors Rearview camera |

Jaguar Land Rover may build factory in Saudi Arabia
Tue, 11 Dec 2012The Middle East is one of the fastest-growing markets for Land Rover, so it makes sense that the automaker is looking to set up shop in the region. According to Automotive News, Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with the people of Saudi Arabia to build a factory in the country at an expected initial cost of $1.2 billion. Still in the early stage of talks, the proposed facility could start up by 2017 using locally sourced materials such as steel and aluminum.
Such an arrangement could be beneficial for both entities as Saudi Arabia looks to diversify its oil-reliant economy and Land Rover could get local production capacity of around 50,000 units. The report also says that the agreement talks about the possibility for Jaguar models to be built at the same plant further down the road.
This won't be the first vehicle produced in Saudi Arabia - that honor goes to the KSU Gazal-1 - but it will be the first from a major global automaker.
Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts
Thu, 24 Apr 2014With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.
Jaguar Land Rover offers (some) detail about new Ingenium engine
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Jaguar Land Rover officially announced its Ingenium family of engines with the unveiling of the 2.0-liter version in the Jaguar XE concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but it kept details very thin at the time. All we knew was that the new turbocharged mills could be configured to use gasoline or diesel, and be positioned longitudinally or transversely. Months later, JLR is finally letting some more info slip about its new baby, but there are still some big questions to be answered.
For the Ingenium project, Jaguar Land Rover gave its engineers a clean sheet of paper and told them not to worry about using any previous parts or machinery. In the end, the designers came up with a family of turbocharged, aluminum-block engines based around modular, 500cc cylinders to allow it to grow or shrink as the market demanded. The layout was also made adaptable enough to incorporate hybrid drivetrains, if needed. "Being configurable and flexible are the two key strands of Ingenium's DNA because we have future-proofed our new engines from the outset," said said Ron Lee, the company's director of Powertrain Engineering.
To maximize efficiency, Jaguar promises that all versions of the Ingenium engines come with computer-controlled, variable oil pumps and water pumps to use only as much energy as needed. They also get direct injection, roller bearings for the cams and stop/start. The diesel version alone has 17 percent less internal friction than the mill it replaces, the company claims. JLR is also promising class-leading figures for Ingenium's torque and horsepower too, but it's not giving away those specs just yet.
