2012 - Jeep Wrangler on 2040-cars
Township Of Washington, New Jersey, United States
2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. This is the top of the line Jeep model for 2012 and has every single option available for 2012. It is the perfect all around vehicle - a convertible in the summer, a 4x4 in the winter, and a 4-door to haul around kids or friends. The only think it's lacking is a big 400hp hemi engine and then you can hit the track. The 285hp pentastar does just fine and the 5 spd auto is a huge improvement over the previous 4 spd auto in the 2007-2011 Jk's. Cosmetically the vehicle is in great shape. It has the color matched hardtop and fenders. The hardtop color matched is a cool option. The matched fenders look really nice but the only drawback is that they are painted so they are more susceptible to getting scratched vs the unpainted black ones. Given the drawback I would still go for the painted ones. The interior is in perfect condition. Leather heated seats, front and side airbags are 490 option. It has navi, bluetooth phone, and the larger hard drive for uploading MP3's. It also has a set of ACE rock rails which is a big help for shorter people. It has 33.5" nitto terra grappler tires which are a lot more comfortable and handle better than the stock 32" BFG mud terrains - they have 2000 miles on them. With the 4.10 gears the jeep is at 2600 RPM's on the highway which is the sweet spot for good gas mileage - the larger tires increased the gas mileage on average by 1.5 MPG. It has the towing package and a front tow hitch in case you want to hook up a hitch but not mount it permanently. If you're looking at this ad I would assume you are familiar with the Rubicon - heavy duty dana 44 axles, electronic front sway bar disconnect, front and rear electronic lockers, and a low ratio transfer case. All great options for a serious offroader or a hurricane sandy escape vehicle - in all honesty for my use I tried the lockers once in the snow and maybe put it in 4wd a total of 5 times. I'm not a big offroader and used this more to lug around my kids. With a 3rd child I'm looking to upgrade to a larger SUV which is the main motivation for selling it. The title is free and clear and in my name. Please feel free to ask any questions or come and schedule a test drive and look at it. It has ben dealer maintained and is a very clean well kept Jeep. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Alaska Cannonball | 14,000 miles to Deadhorse and back
Fri, Jul 27 2018I've never delayed big adventure long enough to fill a bucket. But I do have a bucket item that dates to 1992: drive from Deadhorse, Alaska, to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Twenty-six years later, it's time. But first, I needed a vehicle. And a Jeep Wrangler was not my first choice. Growing up as a kid in the Midwest, I loved Jeeps. But around 10 years ago I went on a camping trip to Death Valley with a colleague, testing the early JK Wrangler against the competition. By the end of it, I couldn't justify the ergonomic and physical punishment for the admittedly massive capability. So two years ago, I bought a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser project truck to make the journey. I paid too much, and the Cruiser revealed itself to be not a garage project, but the Manhattan Project. I took this as a good omen. Adventure begins in the deep end, so why wait to get there? During a break from discovering enough gremlins to reboot the movie franchise, I had dinner with Jeep's West Coast PR guy. I mentioned my plans for a six-month overlanding trek to Alaska. He said, "You know, we've got a new Wrangler coming out — that might be a good test of the chassis." My outside voice said, "That would be interesting." My inside voice said, "Hmmm." Anything's possible after 10 years, right? I might like it. Might. Many plans have gone awry on the way to this moment. It's taken more than a year to lock in a start date, because Jeep couldn't spare a Wrangler Rubicon. Everyone else in America keeps buying them. A suitable Wrangler was found eventually, but now the deed had to be done in three months, not six. What was going to be a comfortably-paced, backwoods roll up to Alaska and back has turned into the Rubicon Overland Cannonball. I know 14 weeks is plenty of time to drive to the Arctic and back. (Tierra del Fuego is officially off the itinerary.) However, the point of this trip is to fit in as much dirt, as many bucket-list trails, and all the wild America possible. That means my route's about 14,000 convoluted miles of criss-crossing the country in all the cardinal directions. And that's assuming everything goes to plan. Until last week, I was doing this trip with a friend from college who lives in Marietta, Georgia. He was the photo/video guy. Then he had a medical emergency, so the only trip he's taking is to the OR and rehab. Now I'm going by myself, and I think it's important to point out that I have no idea what I'm doing. That isn't modesty, that's truth: zero clue.
The Grand Wagoneer is ambitious, but luxury comes naturally for Jeep
Wed, Oct 6 2021The good life is coming easy for Jeep, or perhaps I should say, naturally. The rough-and-tough off-road brand that can credibly claim it helped win World War II is offering a level of luxury that borders on decadent in its latest line of SUVs. After a weekend in the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, I can reiterate that Jeep’s status as a luxury good producer is legit. Really, JeepÂ’s upward mobility is nothing new. Anyone who has driven a Grand Cherokee in a top trim in the last decade will tell you the materials and layout rival premium brands of all stripes. But jumping up into the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer (here's our First Drive Review) territory means a different kind of fight for Jeep. ItÂ’s facing off against vehicles like the GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. The Grand Wagoneer Series III like I tested starts at $104,000, and mine had plenty of options. At this point, Jeep is also taking aim at Mercedes, BMW and frankly anyone who makes a six-figure SUV. ItÂ’s not a Bentley Bentayga rival, but with huge touchscreens, soft saddle brown leather, rear infotainment, massaging seats, and silky McIntosh speakers, the Grand Wagoneer is one of the most well-appointed vehicles IÂ’ve tested. Will consumers pay six figures for a Jeep? Is it a luxury good? My sense is yes to both. Built just north of Detroit, the Grand Wagoneer offers an authentic Team USA vibe that works for things like Shinola and L.L. Bean. Jeep has been named the “most patriotic” brand in the U.S. for 19 straight years, and the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee L have small flags on their flanks, so thereÂ’s substance to support the marketing and mythology. The Grand WagoneerÂ’s only obvious downside is its fuel economy, which seems woefully behind the times, even for a hulking SUV. This content is hosted by a third party. An ‘important collectorÂ’ commissioned Lamborghini to recreate a one-off replica of the original 1971 prototype that presaged the Countach. While the actual car was destroyed in crash testing in 1974 — things were different back then — Lambo painstakingly recreated the car that debuted at the '71 Geneva Motor Show using archival documents and original spare parts. It created new bodywork with modern tactics to get the details spot-on.
Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is our idea of a restrained Mopar shopping spree
Thu, 07 Nov 2013According to a recent report, the Jeep Wrangler is the most popular SUV for customization, and this is backed up by the fact that the iconic off-roader was just named the Hottest 4x4-SUV at SEMA for the fourth year in a row. Looking for ways to keep its customers in-house rather than going aftermarket, Jeep and Mopar are always teaming to offer exciting new parts and pieces for the JK Wrangler.
Compared to most other Wranglers on display at SEMA - as well as other Chrysler Mopar SEMA concepts - the Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is surprisingly reserved, but should be no less exciting for owners to give their Wrangler a distinctive look. Starting off with an eye-catching copper paint scheme, the Jeep then goes on a Mopar catalog shopping spree with its matte black grille, black beadlock wheels, two-inch lift, Rubicon bumper (with a winch and aero end caps up front) and rocker panel and taillight guards.
Jeep also upgraded the Wrangler's transfer case for low-speed rock crawling (hence the vehicle's name) and cold-air intake for extra measure.
