I BOUGHT THIS VEHCILE FOR MY WIFE TO DRIVE BUT NEED SOMETHING WITH A LITTLE BIT MORE ROOM.THE JEEP RUNS & DRIVES OUT GREAT, STILL SMELLS NEW ON THE INSIDE,EXTRA CLEAN GOOD ON GAS,JUST BEEN SERVICED ALONG WITH HAVING NEW BRAKES INSTALLED. THE VEHCILE HAS A CLEAR ALABAMA TITLE BUT DOES HAVE PRIOR SALVAGE/FLOOD HISTORY (WATER MADE IT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS & LEAKED IN JUST A LITTLE).THE JEEP STILL SMELLS NEW SO I PERSONALLY DON'T THINK MUCH WATER CAME IN AT ALL OR IT WOULD NOT STILL HAVE THE "NEW CAR SMELL". 2014 Jeep Cherokee will keep Liberty designation in China... sort of
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Chinese buyers will get their first live look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee during the Shanghai Motor Show, but CarNewsChina is reporting that it will go by a different name - Ziyou Guan, which translates to "Liberty Light." The article states that our Jeep Liberty was never sold in China, but the iconic XJ Cherokee was sold and produced there as the Qinuoji (a phonetic translation of Cherokee).
The new Jeep Liberty Light will be built alongside the Fiat Viaggio (China's Fiat-badged version of the Dodge Dart) at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant, and the two models will share the same powertrains: a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder base engine paired to a five-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder (the base engine for the US-spec 2014 Cherokee) as an optional engine. It doesn't sound like the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 will be offered in China.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.

And so it is with Chrysler snubbing its nose at a request by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million Jeeps the feds insist are at risk of potentially catastrophic fuel tank fires in a rear-end collision.
