I am relisting my Jeep after fixing it, The governor pressure sensor in the transmission went bad and I couldn't sell it like that. I did some other things as well in the 2 weeks since it was last listed. First off its a clean Platinum silver 5.9 with a few dings and scratches, the hood was plastidipped because of a rust bubble. It has just under 196000 miles on it and runs good, It has 2,000 miles to go until the next oil change. Here's a list of modifications and things replaced in the last month.

Brand new 3.5" rough country lift kit with new shocks

265 bfg mts with 50-60% tread left

np242 swap so its not fulltime 4wd, you can shift into 4wd when needed like regular Cherokees

front axle ujoint shaft swap. to get rid of the cv shafts

new rear pads and drivers side caliper

new cat, o2 sensor and muffler

new headlight housings with silverstar bulbs

new clear corner lenses

fixed coolant temp message on the electronic display, common problem with a bad solder joint.

new transmission speed sensor. and governor pressure sensor

transmission is a jasper rebuild by previous owner

swapped rear axle assembly front another 5.9 s the pinion bearing went on the old one.

swapped steering boxes due to a leak from the same 5.9

No rips or tears in the leather, the only 2 electronic things I noticed that doesnt work is the drivers heated seat and the rear wiper. The headliner is starting to sag in a few spots(see photos), there is very little rust on this Jeep under the doors but it isn't noticeable unless you crawl under it, My plan was to find another hood but no luck yet. The suspension is brand new, I currently do not have a front driveshaft in it due to vibrations, I will include the cv front shaft but it should be upgraded to a ujoint front shaft out of a 6cyl ZJ. I do not need 2 vehicles so this one needs to go, It really is a nice looking Jeep Id like to see I go to a good home where it will be finished up. With a little TLC it will be perfect. Any questions please feel free to ask. The vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty etc. Low reserve bid now to get a hard to find 5.9 ZJ!

Jeep mulling power top for next Wrangler

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Jeep is hard at work on the next-generation Wrangler, though the truck is still a few years from hitting the trails. The new model will still be aimed at off-roaders, but rumors suggest it will be a little more comfortable than previous versions to appeal to more people.
According to Road and Track, Jeep is developing a power-retractable top as an expensive option for the Wrangler. There is no word if the top in question is a sliding canvas rollback like the ones found on many European vehicles or a full convertible hardtop or softtop, nor do we know whether it would be made available on two- or four-door models. It might be a nice feature for some buyers but would certainly add complexity to a truck already known for its ruggedness. We asked Jeep for confirmation, but Jeep spokesperson Todd Goyer could only remind us that the company "can't comment about future products."
In news that is likely to irk the faithful, R&T reports the next model may also ditch its folding windshield for improved safety and possibly even get rid of its rear-mounted, full-size spare tire. The new Wrangler won't go completely soft, though, and will reportedly still feature removable doors and solid axles.

Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler wants mountains, not a stage

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

We've said it before and we'll say it again - while we usually grow tired of the endless barrage of special edition vehicles, that isn't the case with the Jeep Wrangler. Every unique model we encounter seems cooler than the one before it, and this Willys Wheeler Edition is no exception.
The Willys Wheeler package is sort of a throwback to early Jeep CJ models, and wears "Willys" stickers on the hood. There's also a gloss black grille, rock rails to protect the side sills, and unique 17-inch black wheels wrapped in meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires. For proper off-road prowess, this special edition uses a Dana 44 rear axle with a limited-slip differential and a 3.73 final drive ratio.
Look for the Willys edition to hit dealerships early next year, starting at $25,795 for the two-door version and $29,595 for the four-door. Feel free to read all about it in the press release below.

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
