Hello Thanks for Looking. I have this 1997 Jeep Cherokee in Good Condition. It has high milage but 1/4 of it was put on towing it behind my motorhome. The 4.0l engine is one of the best engines Jeep ever built.In the past 6 months I have replaced the rear main seal,valve cover gasket,exhaust manifold (SS) , New 4 hole Updated fuel injectors,Complete tune up.plugs,wires,rebuilt distrubtor,new coil ,cap,rotor and wires. I will be getting a CA smog this week and will udate later. The tires are in good shape and body has a few parking lot dents and normal ware for a 1997. The A/C is cold and I have a pypass switch on the engine, electric fan.It also has a solid fan and new aluminum radiator, and rear air shocks. Also, comes with ski rack and lock and tire cables. Several years ago this jeep was hit in a parking lot . I kid lost control of his truck in the ice and hit the left front finder and bent the front finders hood and grill. I replaced them with all new parts. Some of the front end gaps are wide and some are close an didn't align real well. BUT none of the fame or subframe were hurt. This jeep now has a 6" steel front bumper and a 2'' front reciver for wench.and brackets for tow bar. If tow bar and rear tow light bar are need I might work it in with the deal. This Vehical is listed locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. This Jeep Cherokee is being sold AS IS Milage might change because I still drive this jeep. There are three sentences that, for this reviewer, define what needs to be conveyed about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The first: it is very good.
Jeep spent 27 years building the Cherokee and its brand, from 1974 to 2001. Twelve years ago, the Cherokee nameplate rolled away into the distant hills and retirement, at least here in the NAFTA colonies, and it was replaced by a loaded word we knew as "Liberty."
Jeep idles second shift it hired a month ago for 2014 Cherokee
Tue, 24 Sep 2013In an unusual move, Chrysler is idling its recently hired second shift of 2014 Jeep Cherokee builders because, Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said in a statement, it already has built the "critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released," Automotive News reports.
After the "critical" 9,430 Cherokees were built, the layoff was enacted so as not to strain the automaker's logistics partners before the Cherokee is actually released. Chrysler says the temporary layoff will last about two weeks, with 500 workers out of work and another 600 reassigned at the Toledo Assembly Complex where the sports utility vehicle was being built. The second-shift workers were hired on August 19.
Chrysler previously insisted that it would release the Cherokee to dealerships by the end of the third quarter, and it initially planned to start selling the SUVs in mid-August. Apparently the Cherokee needed a software fix before hitting showrooms, which is how Chrysler explains why the release schedule is out of whack. We're thinking that this software fix addresses the "powertrain calibration" issue that delayed the first media test drives of the model. According to the Toledo Blade, Chrysler has admitted it is doing "extended quality validation testing" but refused to provide more information.
2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
