This is a 1984 Jeep CJ7 Laredo in automatic and factory air!! Jeep is a great restoration of an all original jeep.
I bought this jeep about 5 years ago and it was probably the best original jeep that I had ever seen. It all of it original parts with it except for the radio and center console. The motor was in great shape and just needed a service and a good clean-up. After about three years of owning the jeep i decided to do the restoration. Like I mentioned earlier, the jeep was in such good shape to begin with that the restoration was not a huge undertaking. The inside was almost perfect so i did not mess with the seats or the carpet. I did replace everything on the dash and repainted the dash pad. The body was in great shape to be almost 30 years old, but i decided to repaint the body due to the fact that everything else on the jeep looked almost new. The body was straight as an arrow and didn't have any rust at all. I painted the body inside and out and also painted to hard top as well. After paint, I added all new window and door moldings as well as adding back a new set of original Laredo body decals. This jeep has all the thing that you want in a original. Original steering wheel, automatic and factory air. Everything works on this jeep, even the original clock. This truly is a opportunity that doesn't come along very often. GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.
2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014
Wed, 09 Jul 2014I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.
Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
