BEAUTIFUL 2001 XKR JAGUAR CONVERTIBLE - Always Garaged - Non/Smoking Car

Silver with Black Interior with Black Rag Top. I am the second owner. I purchased it from Mission Viejo Jaguar with 42,000 miles on it. They sold it new and serviced it at the dealership for the previous lady owner. She traded it in on a new Jaguar. I have maintained the car to a level where it is exceptionally clean inside and out. The car has Navigation and 6 Disk CD Changer in the trunk. The wheels are incredible on this car. It is just a beautiful car. I recently put all new hoses in the car which was over $1600 dollars. The tires are good which I purchased from Costco. I drive this car from my home in Newport Beach CA to my tennis club each day since I bought it on 9/22/08 which is an 8 mile round trip. The car has 74,487 miles on it so it is a low mileage car for a 01. The reason I am selling it is because I just bought a new car and don't want to maintain two cars.

Thanks,
JK

The Jaguar E-Type Lightweight is back on the prowl after a few decades away

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

Sometimes procrastination has its benefits. Jaguar originally planned to build a run of 18 E-Type Lightweights for racing in the '60s. However, it was only ever to complete 12 of them. It has taken all of the intervening decades to finally get back to the project and build the final run of new Lightweights. While Jag announced the plan recently, the first continuation model was unveiled during the Pebble Beach weekend.
Coming from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations unit, these cars are identical to the way they left the factory in the '60s. Jag is even using the same grade of aluminum for the bodies, and the cars are fully compliant for FIA historic racing. Power comes from an aluminum, 3.8-liter inline-six with about 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque routed through a four-speed manual gearbox. Who could guess that in 2014 someone could buy a brand new vehicle from a major manufacturer that comes with Weber carbs? Though, Lucas mechanical fuel injection is an option.
While they look old, these new E-types are also a wonder of modern technology. To get things just right, the company laser scanned an original car to create the new bodies. Check out the gallery from the unveiling to see this old cat on the prowl again.

Jaguar design boss Callum reinterprets classic Mark 2 for himself [w/video]

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

As the man behind the styling of basically every Jaguar since the mid 2000s, two things should be known about Ian Callum - he's a big fan of the brand, and he can bloody well get whatever kind of Jag he wants.
His newest car, though, is not what you might expect. Rather than an F-Type or an XJ, Callum has gone old school, and commissioned a custom, resto-modded Jaguar Mark 2.
Designed by Callum and built by Classic Motor Cars in Shropshire, England, the Mark 2 was an 18-month project between the designer and the garage. The essentially new car draws its power from a 4.3-liter engine that's been pilfered and modified from an XK. It's mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Is Jaguar's 3 Series-fighter the brand's last chance?

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The upcoming line of compact 3 Series-fighters from Jaguar, often referred to as the Jaguar XS, could consist of a sedan, wagon and possibly a coupe and GT model (think BMW 5 Series GT). The car's all-aluminum architecture also will provide the basis for two new sports utility vehicles. Just how important is the much-touted "baby Jag" project to parent company Jaguar Land Rover? A JLR executive reportedly says the brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS, codenamed X760, Autocar reports.
The brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS.
"If the X760 fails, it will probably be the end for the [Jaguar] brand," the executive says. But Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, claims Jaguar will "build the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in that [compact luxury sedan] segment. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world."
