2000 Honda Prelude

I have decided to get something with a little more room because I am going into the military and will be moving around a lot; for this reason, I am selling my car.

It is a Red 2000 Honda Prelude Base model with a H22 engine with VTEC with automatic transmission. It does have a rebuilt title, but has no problems or signs of wreckage. I have had the car for more than 2 years now, and the car drives smooth; interior is clean and without flaws or age. There is a few scratches on the car, and a ding on the front lip; however, these can be fixed easily with a cheap paint detail job. There is some rust on the bottom of the driver door and bottom of the car, most have been sanded down and treated; there is no significant cosmetic damage and no mechanical problems at all. I have also done a lot of modifying to the car itself; the smaller jobs I did myself where the bigger projects were done by a shop. This a list of most of the work done to the car.
Under the Hood:
-Skunk2 Exhaust
-Megan Racing Headers
-AEM intake with K&N filter (just replaced with new filter)
-AEM oil filter
-New Radiator/Water Pump/Timing Belts
-Wire Tuck to clean appearance under the hood
-Redtop Optimum Battery w/ custom stainless steel battery holder
-Custom Red painted valve cover
-Carbon Fiber spark plug cover
-Red spark plug wires w/ new spark plugs
-Skunk2 Oil Cap
-Megan Racing Strut Bar
Exterior Body Work:
-JDM Lip Kit (painted to match the car)
-30% tent on all window, except the windshield
-Euro Style DEPO headlights with black trim
-JDM Fog Lights with yellow bulbs
-VIS Racing Carbon Fiber OEM hood
-Custom wrapped mirrors in carbon fiber (real, not vinyl)
-Mugen style Carbon Fiber Spoiler from Password JDM
-Carbon Fiber Honda "H" emblem on the back of the car
-Carbon Fiber Grille
-Carbon Fiber Fuel Door
-New window trim
Interior Work:
-Custom Carbon Fiber Center Dash Trim
-New OEM trim
-Kenwood Touchscreen Radio w/ Bluetooth/USB connection/Garmin GPS
-Infinity Front/Rear Speakers
-Red leather door inserts
-Rubber Floor Mats
Wheels/Suspension:
-Tein Full Coilover suspension (adjustable)
-Slotted/Drilled R1-concept Disc Brakes
-Motegi 15" Rims (Matte Black)
-Falken Performance tires (maybe 8,000 miles on them)
-Red Painted Calipers

All carbon fiber on the car is real, no fake vinyl stuff. I also have most of the stock parts too, that is included in the price; these consist of the original hood, mirrors, spoiler, rims, and a few other parts.

Please call or email if you are interested in the car or have any questions; I have more pictures and information if needed. If you are local, I have no problem meeting up with you so that you can see/test drive the car/ or take it to a mechanic to get it checked out, I know the drill. Please just let me know. Honda returning to F1 as McLaren partner

Thu, 16 May 2013

Honda must really love Formula One racing, as evidenced by today's announcement that the Japanese automaker is returning to the world's most popular motorsport for the fifth time in its history. Honda has entered into a team partnership with McLaren to develop and manufacture power systems - the engine and energy recovery system - for the 2015 F1 season. McLaren will be in charge of chassis development and running the day-to-day operations of this newly formed team, which will be called McLaren Honda.
Honda says its decision to reenter F1 racing had to do with new regulations for the 2014 season that require cars to be powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injection turbocharged V6 engine paired with an energy recovery system. Apparently the chance to develop this particular powertrain for F1 racing was too enticing for Honda to pass up, which suggests it has bigger plans for the knowledge learned while developing these systems beyond just winning races.
As mentioned, this is Honda's fifth foray into F1 racing, the first being back in 1964 when it participated as its own team through 1968. Its longest stint came from 1983-1992 as an engine supplier, during which time it partnered with many teams, including McLaren, and won six Constructor Championships. Honda then returned from 2000-2005 as an engine supplier for British American Racing (BAR) before buying that team outright and running it as Honda Racing from 2006-2008. Then the global economic crisis hit. Honda's return to the sport will surely be welcomed by fans as its partnership with McLaren should produce a formidable team. It's a strong signal that the company has returned to health after a few tumultuous years, and hopefully its rediscovered motorsports mojo will help yield more passionately engineered street cars.

Average new-car fuel economy figures continue record pace

Sat, 13 Jul 2013

Manufacturers are making more efficient cars and trucks; we've known that to be true for some time. Nearly every new car has some sort of trick to eke a few extra miles out of every gallon of fuel. Whether that be turbocharging, active aerodynamics or hybrid technology/electrified powertrains, the fact is that our vehicles are more efficient than ever before.
Thanks to a recent study by TrueCar, we've got fresh quantitative data to support the above statements. For the fourth month in a row, we've seen an improvement in national fleet fuel economy. We Americans are 0.7 miles per gallon more efficient than we were last month, and our cars are 1.6-mpg better than at this time last year. That said, we're still down on 2013's high, which was set back in January at 24.5 mpg.
Not only does this reflect the improved technologies in our vehicles, but it demonstrates a changing mindset among consumers, who are purchasing more efficient vehicles despite the relative stabilization of fuel prices. Every fuel-efficient model sold drives its manufacturers fleet average up.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
