This is one you don't want to miss. A beautiful Lude with no rust, fresh red paint, new tires, and a fresh, that's right a fresh swap. This Lude was built originally as an automatic transmission 2.3 litre with power steering, air conditioning and really unreliable anti-lock brakes. I was a pretty boring Prelude. I swapped out the auto for a five speed and found a pretty rare H23A3. The H23A3 is a non-Vtec European only version of the 2.3 liter. It was used in European accord wagons and some other euro Honda I've never heard of. I have researched this engine, and im confident that it has some pretty good horsepower numbers. I have not had it on a dyno so I will not speculate. The compression ratio is 9.8:1. Low enough to turbo, and I have compression tested this engine and timed and tuned it, and it runs very strong, not an oil burning Vtec, all seals hold so it does NOT leak anything. The transmission shifts great. I left the stock exhaust on it, however I did Install an aftermarket performance exhaust header. It has two intake systems with the car the shorty shown in the engine picture and a cold air included. The entire engine bay has been scrubbed clean, the engine and transmission were power washed prior to installation. The car has no spare tire or jack. They were missing when I bought it. I can probably find a space saver and a jack to include if that's a deal breaker. The interior is very clean the previous owner didn't smoke in it but someone did & there are a few of those little burns here and there but they are in places you either sit or not in plain sight. The interior was pulled and cleaned. There are some small dings in the doors. The brake pads are brand new and it stops on a dime. I can include the power steering pump if requested. This car is a head turner. Great gas mileage but that should go without saying. The power sunroof works great, no leaking, and no rust. I built this car with care and attention to detail. I can be contacted at 815-713-seven, seven, seven, five, between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. central time, my name is Tony. I can also personally deliver this car by trailer at additional cost. I urge you to call with your questions and voice your concerns before bidding. I will be more than happy to answer any concerns you may have. I am a 15 year automotive technician who is a stickler for detail. I would live to keep this car and boost the hell out of it but I just don't have the time, the room, or the $$. If I had the money/time/room, I'd have this thing running high 12s maybe faster.

Honda Accord Hybrid sales capacity constrained
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Honda might be selling more hybrids if it could just get them to dealers. While the second-generation Insight never lived up to sales expectations and production is ending, the Japanese automaker is seeing strong demand for the Accord Hybrid here and abroad. However, there is so much global consumer desire that it can't keep them in US showrooms.
The problem limiting the sales of the Accord Hybrid is its battery pack and its popularity in Japan. "There's a waiting list for the product," said Jeff Conrad, Honda general manager, to Ward's Auto about the sedan's US popularity. While the American Accord is built in Marysville, OH, the batteries are imported from Japan, where the model is quite popular. According to Ward's data, the automaker sold 2,414 examples of the hybrid version from October 2013 to February 2014 in the US, but it shifted 6,000 units in Japan in its first three months on sale. Conrad also admitted that the constrained supply is limiting the amount of marketing the automaker can do for the hybrid.
Honda spokesperson Chris Martin told Autoblog the company is working on a solution to increase production for the near future. "We are going to resolve the battery issue," he said.
eBay Find of the Day: 1985 Honda City Turbo II is JDM forbidden fruit you can own
Fri, 14 Feb 2014It's always fun to cruise different global eBay Motors sites and check out the cars that we never got here. Thankfully, America's 25-year import limit on cars means that some of the rarities from the 80s are finally legal on these shores. This 1985 Honda City Turbo II is a great example of a fun, little car that we never got new but can be made legal here now.
The City was basically the Japanese company's '80s equivalent of today's Fit, albeit significantly smaller. The little urban runabout was so popular in its basic form that Honda decided to take things up a notch and turbocharge it. That car sold enough to warrant an even higher performance version called the Turbo II, which added an intercooler and the flared fenders you see here. The latter helped it earn the nickname "bulldog" for its boxy, aggressive appearance.
Honda claimed at the time that its little 1.2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder produced 109 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque with a five-speed manual. In a car that weight just 1,620 pounds, you can imagine it was a very entertaining little package.
2014 Honda Civic priced from $18,190*, new CVT boosts city mpg
Thu, 05 Dec 2013For the third consecutive model year, Honda has given its Civic lineup some substantial improvements, and with the 2014 Civic Coupe and Sedan going on sale this week, the automaker has released pricing and fuel economy numbers for its gas and non-Si models. Honda has not released any images of the 2014 Civic Sedan yet, but we got our first look at the updated Coupe last month at SEMA.
Aside from styling changes introduced on the 2013 Sedan being carried over to the 2014 Coupe, the biggest update to all 2014 Civics might be the addition of the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Fuel economy figures carry over for cars with the manual transmission, but models swapping the previous five-speed automatic for the new CVT are seeing a boost in city fuel economy by 2 mpg helping the Civic max out at 31 mpg city for the fuel-miser HF trim level.
In terms of pricing, the 2014 Civic is getting a modest price hike of $225 for the base LX models, which now start at $18,190* for the Coupe and $18,390* for the Sedan (*not including $790 for destination charges). The sedan-only HF trim level is up $175, there's a $275 price increase for the EX and EX-L Coupe and EX Sedan models and an extra $475 has been tacked on to the EX-L Sedan.
