NEEDS WORK. Engine running on only three cylinders. probably has a burned valve on cylinder number two. Also leaks oil, but have been told this can be repaired when performing the valve work. Car does run and drive, but do not recommend driving more than about 20 miles without fixing cylinder two.

Body is solid with minor rust at rear wheel wells. Interior is in good condition. Seats are excellent and still comfortable. Air conditioner works. All window glass is good. Includes OEM floor mats, and after market rubber mats for winter. Original jack and tool pouch also included. And plus the original owner's manual.

Other good items include:

- completely new ignition parts: distributor cap and rotor, coil, spark plugs and wires (all done in August, at Honda dealer, to correct cylinder two)
- alternator is new within the past year.
- battery is also new within past year or so
- five Michelin tires have 40k to 50k miles remaining
- (yes, the spare is a full size Michelin too)
- steering column and idler arm were new about a year and a half ago
- AM/FM stereo radio cassette player is NOS installed two years ago
- rear luggage cover is good (rare for hatchback this old)
- oil pan was replaced by dealer about three years ago
- gas tank is full.

The Civic has been in my family since it was purchased new. Has more than 250,000 miles on it, probably close to 275,000 but the speedometer/odometer only works about half the time now. Purchased in Alabama and it spent 7 years there. Then the next 7 years in the Louisville, Kentucky area. The last 6 years it has been here in Central Ohio. This Honda has been loved, but is time to go.

NOTE: Buyer must pick up, or make arrangements for pick up. NO DELIVERY by seller.

Honda says Accord is America's best-selling car among actual consumers

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

The latest round of new vehicle registration data has been good for Honda - three of the Japanese brand's models are retail sales leaders and the Accord was the most registered car built in America in 2013, according to the data compiled by Polk. In fact, 360,089 units of the family sedan were purchased by individual consumers last year, an increase of 12.2 percent.
There was also good news from the Civic and CR-V camps, as those two models topped their respective segments in terms of retail (non-fleet) sales, with each notching over 300,000 registrations. Combined with the Accord, this trio of Hondas accounted for a whopping 1.11 million retail sales last year.
Honda spokesperson Sage Marie reflected on Polk's findings, telling Autoblog:

Meet the Kanjozoku, Osaka's infamous street racers

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Street racing is obviously illegal and incredibly dangerous, but that has never stopped people from doing it. While we don't hear nearly as much about the scourge of Japanese tuner cars as when The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters over a decade ago, illegal street racing is still bubbling under the surface all over the island nation. An excellent new documentary short from Bowls Films takes a look at the Kanjozoku from Osaka, Japan; a group that claims to be partially responsible for the tuning style known as JDM.
The group gets their name from their preferred route known as the Kanjo. It's a 4.77-mile long loop of connected highways running right through the city of Osaka. You might expect a hardcore group of illegal Japanese racers to show up with highly tuned Nissan GT-R and Toyota Supra coupes, but the Kanjozoku evidently eschew all of the others in favor of one particular car that they love: the Honda Civic.
According to the video, that vehicle of choice came in part from the city's location. Osaka was relatively near the one-make Civic races held at Japan's legendary Suzuka racetrack. The hatchbacks thus became the default weapons for the Kanjozoku's street battles.

Bonkers Honda Vezel headlines Mugen's lineup at Tokyo Auto Salon

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Japanese automakers and their tuning divisions have descended upon the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City for the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon. And for Honda, it's all about Mugen.
Honda's Japanese Domestic Market tuning division brought a series of modified concepts and racing cars to the salon this year, including the CR-Z hybrid touring car it fields in the Super GT series, the SF13 single-seater from the Super Formula series as well as customized versions of the Fit, Odyssey and N-WGN. But the prize for the most outrageous of them all surely goes to the modified Vezel you see above.
Modeled on Honda's new Fit-based crossover, the Mugen Vezel Concept goes further than the versions we've seen until now. It features a bonkers body kit, dual exhaust, brake upgrade, sport suspension, intricate 20-inch alloy wheels and an upgraded interior. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're feeling still interested, you can check it out in the gallery above, along with the announcement below and the specs on Mugen's website.
