Custom Honda Accord 1998 Show Car on 2040-cars

Year:1998 Mileage:125000 Color:
Location:

Spokane, Washington, United States

Spokane, Washington, United States

This is a one of a kind Honda. I have won dozens of first place trophies, best of show trophies, best interior trophies, and best paint trophies. The car has been featured in numerous magazines and has multiple cover features. The pictures don't really do it justice as the paint is pearl metal flake and the details are numerous. Air suspension (cylinders) all around, front and rear controls. People simply love this car. Lots of attention is generated wherever I drive. I've been to hundreds of shows and am just ready to move on and do another one! Will be sad to see my baby go.

Condition:
Excellent. There are a few very small issues with some of the paint (small crack in the trunk, small crack on interior plastic). The air suspension has a slow leak (don't they all?).

Features:
  • Wheels - 18" Rozzi Detention Chrome.
  • Paint - 2004 Nissan 350Z Sunset LeMans Pearl with custom cream flames with black striping.
  • Exterior - shaved body line, shaved mouldings, shaved trunk tail lights, reworked license plate box (now the size of a license plate), keyholes are shaved, 01/02 tail lights, air suspension (air cylinders on all corners).
  • Interior - Katzkin leather seats (light grey with bone inserts), grey tweed on dash, door panels, back deck lid, roof (with embossed flames), custom carpet (grey), painted plastic pieces to match the body, custom gauge pod (in front of shifter), custom built trunk (2 7gallon air tanks, compressor), Billet Specialties steering wheel.
  • Suspension - air cylinders, 3/8" valves, chassis tech compressor, 2 - 7g air tanks.
  • Engine - stock vtech, added an air intake.
Shipping:
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. But the car runs and drives excellently, you could easily drive it home wherever you are in the country.

Payment:
Payment in full before transfer of title. I will accept bank transfer or PayPal only.

Honda adopts English as its official language in meetings worldwide

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Japanese was clearly the language of operation while we visited Honda's global headquarters in Tokyo last week, as well as its newest factory and principal test track. Chief executive Takanobu Ito (pictured above) spoke to us through an interpreter. But according to the latest reports, the Japanese language is being phased out at Honda in favor of English.
This according to Bloomberg, which points out that tire manufacturer Bridgestone and rival automaker Nissan have implemented similar measures, as have Japanese retail giants Fast Retailing Co. and Rakuten Inc. Honda's shift from Japanese to English comes as part of a shift in focus from central decision-making to a more regional model, but while English has clearly emerged as the international language of business, it's no coincidence that it's also the dominant language here in America. Bloomberg points out that over the 12-month period that ended this past March, North America accounted for a massive 47 percent of Honda's revenues worldwide.

Honda accused of not reporting all airbag problems

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

The Takata airbag recall that has afflicted a number of automakers may have just taken a very bad turn for Honda, which has already recalled over one million vehicles. Clarence Ditlow and the Center for Auto Safety have accused the Japanese manufacturer of failing to report two "injury-and-death" incidents. To determine just what happened, the company has initiated a third-party audit.
According to Bloomberg, CAS claims Honda failed to report fatalities in 2009 and 2013, a point Honda doesn't seem to contest, indicating that it didn't report so-called "verbal claims."
"It is our understanding that some manufacturers choose to include these types of verbal claims, and that these constitute the majority of the injury-and-death claims that they report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration," the company told Bloomberg via email. "We believe this practice accounts for the vast majority of the difference between the total number of injury-and-death claims reported by Honda compared to certain other manufacturers."

Honda marks 20 million vehicles made in the USA

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

Japanese automakers manufacturing in the United States is nothing new. But it was in November of 1982 when the first Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line in Marysville, OH. It was the first Japanese vehicle assembled in the US, and in the nearly 32 years since, Honda has made 10 million Accords here for a total of 20 million cars manufactured in America - enough to span from New York to San Francisco twenty times. It's that double landmark which Honda is now celebrating.
Honda has come a long way in those three decades, keeping that original plant in Marysville on line while expanding to three more - in East Liberty, OH; Lincoln, AL; and Greensburg, IN - with a fifth plant (the Performance Manufacturing Center) opening on the same site in Marysville to build the Acura NSX next year. It also builds engines in Lincoln and in Anna, OH, and automatic transmissions at Russells Point, OH, and Tallapoosa, GA.
Between those seven sites, Honda produces 11 different models, including the Accord, Civic, Crosstour, CR-V, Pilot, Odyssey and Ridgeline as well as the Acura ILX, TL, RDX and MDX. Production keeps on ramping up as Honda produced a record 1.3 million vehicles in the US last year, 95 percent of which are sold in the US. Scope out the details in the press release below and click the image above to see it all laid out in a handy infographic.
