We are selling our 1998 Honda Accord EX. This car is in Fair Kelley Blue Book condition and has 306,830 miles on it. It did not pass emissions this year, and the check engine light is on. We've been driving it, though, so it is drivable, but I think it needs a tune up at the very least (might need an engine repair), and will probably need brake pads soon. The tires are still in good condition, and the transmission was replaced at AAMCO in 2010. This car has been in our family only; my aunt bought it new and gave it to my mother who gave it to me. It was serviced only at the Honda Service Center until the warrantee expired, and my mother took excellent care of it after that as well. We've taken good care of her since then, but she requires a little TLC to pass emissions and get back to being the dependable vehicle it meant to be. It's a very solid car, and the right buyer could get another 100k miles out of it if they know how to do the repairs. She has a couple of dents and dings (see photos) as well, but is overall still very good looking. The leather seats are awesome and very comfortable.

105-year-old Facebook user gifted new car anonymously
Mon, 26 Aug 2013105-year-old Edythe Kirchmaier is quite a woman. Not only is she California's oldest driver - she just renewed her license this January after passing the test without incident - she has a perfect 86-year driving record without so much as a parking violation. In fact, she's been driving for so long that she learned how on a Ford Model T (how many people alive today have even driven one of those, much less learned on one?). On top of all that, Edythe is a philanthropist; she's been volunteering at Direct Relief, which provides free medications for people in need, for 40 years. You may have even seen her on TV earlier this year spreading the word.
So when Edythe's 1997 minivan began breaking down, an anonymous fan did what any completely selfless person of means would: they gifted her a brand-new 2013 Honda Civic, ensuring that Edythe can continue working for the cause she loves. Honda recalling 405K vehicles over airbag issue
Thu, 19 Sep 2013Honda is in hot water due to an airbag glitch that is causing it to recall 405,400 vehicles. According to the campaign, the supplemental restraints might fire for no apparent reason. 342,000 of the affected vehicles are 2003 and 2004 Odyssey minivans, which gels with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation we reported on in June.
Joining the Odyssey in the recall is the Acura MDX, with 63,400 units covered from the 2003 model year. Unlike the van, though, the MDX's recall covers Japan and Australia, in addition to the US and Canada. Both vehicles are suffering from an airbag control unit that is prone to malfunction when exposed to electrical noise, a condition that can cause the airbags to deploy without warning. Although no crashes have been reported in such scenarios, there have been some injuries typical of airbag deployment - abrasions and such.
Honda will be mailing recall notices to owners near the end of October, asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership for installation of an electrical noise filter. The repair will take about an hour and be free of charge. Scroll down for the official announcement from Honda.
