Car has been serviced regularly and we have all records. New battery installed in July 2013. In the past year car has been maintained by having: alternator replaced, catalytic converter and entire exhaust system replaced, engine motor vacuumed in August 2013. Brake pads, rotors and calipers were replaced in May 2012. Brake lines need to be replaced soon because the car was driven in upstate NY, where roads are salted, and salted again. so brake lines decayed though car is drivable. For that reason we took $400 off the price- which is the maximum amount our mechanic estimates for the repair (could be less). We can have him do the repair if that is preferable to the buyer.
Exterior paint shows normal wear from sun and elements. There are a few small rust spots- see photos for detail.

This has a been a VERY reliable car- no problems whatsoever, all maintenance has been done (we have the history) and it would be a great car for a student (as we used it).
Asking $1,900, reduced to $1,500 if buyer handles replacement of brake lines, but will consider serious and reasonable offers.

McLaren pondering Honda-powered 911 killer?

As one of the premier sports cars in the world, the Porsche 911 is always driving around with a target on its rear-engined backside. If a new report is to be believed, the latest automaker with plans to build a 911-fighting sports coupe could be McLaren. Motor Trend is reporting that the recent news that Honda and McLaren are teaming up to build Formula One racecars could bear road-going fruit as well.
According to the article, the unnamed entry-level McLaren coupe may be powered by a Honda-sourced engine, but a detuned version of the 3.8-liter V8 from the MP4-12C is said to be more likely. All in, though, there is no solid information on the car just yet. As a reminder, M/T points out that the last time McLaren partnered up with a mainstream automaker, the world was introduced to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

Honda reveals XR-V crossover in Chengdu

Global automakers have been moving largely towards global products, but that doesn't mean it can't tweak them for local tastes. Take Honda, for example, and its new compact crossover. Unveiled late last year as the Vezel, the crossover is expected to arrive in Europe and North America as the HR-V. But in China, it's being called the XR-V and adopts the form you see here.
Presented by Dongfeng Honda at the Chengdu Motor Show, the new XR-V is based closely on the Vezel but adopts some unique bodywork for a more rugged look. The front end gets a more SUV-like grille and bumper, while the side flanks are less swoopy but with more muscular wheel arches. The result may not be as bonkers as the Mugen version that debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon tuner show, but reminds us more of the similarly named and ruggedized Subaru XV Crosstrek.
Though technically billed as a concept, the Chinese-market XR-V looks just about ready for production as it is. Both 1.5- and 1.8-liter engines are specified, and while there may not be a wealth of other details available, you can read what there is in the press release (presented in original and translated forms) below.

Honda pulling plug on slow-selling Insight hybrid

Insight hasn't amounted to even a tenth of Prius sales, and well over half of those sold were JDM.
It's been a rough ride for the Honda Insight, and now its journey appears to be at an end - word is that the five-door hybrid hatchback is going out of production.
