2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLE crew cab. White exterior with a gray cloth interior. 102,000 miles approximately however increasing as this vehicle is my daily driver. This vehicle is a four-wheel-drive vehicle and has the Z 71 off-road package. It also has the heavy-duty towing package with the upgraded mirrors, built in brake controller, transmission cooler lines and heavy duty hitch receiver. There are no rips in any of the seats. The vehicle has always been well-maintained and recently had upgraded PIAA headlights installed. The vehicle is stock. The vehicle has the option of coming with an extended warranty that I have purchased through 119,000 miles, this is dependent upon the final sale price as to whether not this will come with the vehicle. The tread on the tires is excellent, the vehicle just passed a state of Maine inspection, which is a fairly rigorous test of most safety related systems in the vehicle. The air conditioning works great and blows very cold. The four-wheel-drive system also works very well and has a low and high range option that engage flawlessly. 11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. GM 6.2L EcoTec V8 rated at 21 mpg by the EPA
Wed, 02 Oct 2013General Motors is already laying claim to best-in-class power for its new 6.2-liter V8 that will be offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra this fall, and now it has released fuel economy numbers for the big engine. Available as an option on the Silverado LTZ and High Country (shown above) models as well as the the Sierra SLT and Denali trims, the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 will return 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on rear-wheel-drive trucks; these numbers drop by one mpg each on four-wheel-drive models.
These estimates are in addition to the engine's 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and max trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds, and considering all that power it's not terribly far away from the fuel economy of GM's equally new 4.3-liter V6 and its rating of 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. This announcement comes just days after a report indicated that GM is unable to keep up with the demand of the 5.3-liter V8 in the fullsize Chevy and GMC trucks due to supplier issues. New J.D. Power Initial Quality Study puts Porsche, GM in spotlight
Wed, 19 Jun 2013J.D. Power and Associates has released its annual Initial Quality Study, and this year, Porsche and General Motors took the spotlight. The study, which asks new car owners to report problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership, found that overall, the industry averages 113 problems per 100 vehicles.
Porsche managed a score of just 80 problems per 100 vehicles, while GMC took the second spot on the podium with 90. Lexus filled out the top three with 94 problems per 100 vehicles, followed by Infiniti at 95 and Chevrolet at 97. The study also looks at specific models, and found the Lexus LS to enjoy the best initial quality at 59 problems per 100 vehicles.
Interestingly enough, the report found that around two-thirds of most owner problems experienced in the first 90 days are attributable to vehicle design instead of mechanical failure. Specifically - echoing a refrain we've been hearing for the last few years - owners are having a hard time figuring out how to use the technology present in their new vehicles. Head over to the J.D.
