1977 GMC 1500 LowRider Truck has been professionally lowered and c-notched. Trim has been shaved and mirrors replaced with trans-am mirrors. Vehicle paint has nicks and scratches from being 20 years old, but I just replaced the hood and rear driver side quarter panel one week ago.  There is a 5 inch dent in the passenger side rear quarter panel.   Two years ago I dropped a new built 350ci engine that was bored out to a 362ci. Engine has 13:1 compression and solid lifters, pink rods, Edelbrock high rise intake manifold, Holley 650 street advenger carb, Accel ignition kit, custom valve covers.   Too much to list for parts invested in the engine and only the best parts were put inside, with a little engine dress up it would be a show stopper. Over 25,000 invested in the truck and 12,000 just invested in the engine.

New 3 inch exhaust (front to back)

Transmission was rebuilt with a stage 3 shift kit and stall converter when motor was replaced

Vehicle sold as is, no warranty

I have owned the truck for 15 years now and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but needs to go to cover other costs

GM trademarks 'GearOn,' possibly for pickups

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

On May 27, a week before General Motors applied for a trademark for the word "Zora," GM filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for "GearOn," characterized as a "truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers and cargo tie down rings."
We have no idea what it will be or if we'll see it used on anything, but GM Authority reckons it could be GM's name for a pickup truck feature to rival the BoxLink system Ford introduced on the 2015 F-150. BoxLink has been described as having "dozens of configurations of stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats," giving owners the ability to arrange the bed in they way they need and load unwieldy items like motorcycles without needing extra equipment.
Getting purely speculative, a month ago GM pickup truck engineers said there would be more and more regular updates for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra starting next year. Beyond the suspected capability and fuel economy changes GearOn could be one of the "neat things coming in a whole host of areas."

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

GM recalling 22K Silverado and Sierra trucks for seat issue

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

General Motors will recall 21,721 of its new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups over front seats that could move if the vehicle is hit from behind. Affected vehicles all feature manual adjustments for the two front seats, according to a report from Automotive News.
Of the nearly 22,000 vehicles covered under the action, the overwhelming majority - 18,972 -- were sold in the United States. A further 2,575 were sold in Canada, while 103 were shipped south of the border to Mexico. Finally, another 71 were sold outside North America altogether. As of right now, there are no reports of injuries due to the defect.
Naturally, Chevy and GMC dealers will make the repairs free of charge, although it's not clear as of this writing if GM will be notifying owners or just addressing the issue at the truck's first service.
