FOR AUCTION AN ORIGINAL PAINT 1971 FORD TORINO GT FASTBACK. THIS WAS SOLD NEW IN KENTUCKY AND CAME HERE ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO , I GOT IT 13 YEARS BACK WITH PLANS TO REDO IT HOWEVER I HAVE NEVER GOT TO IT. THE 351 CLEVELAND STARTS AND RUNS QUIET, NO SMOKE, NO NOISES. IT HAS A NEW DISTRIBUTOR, CAP, ROTOR, POINTS, WIRES, PLUGS, STARTER, SOLONOID, CABLES, RAD HOSES. I DROVE IT AROUND HERE FOR YEARS , HOWEVER THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS GONE BAD SO IT WILL NEED THE BRAKES GONE OVER NOW. THE BODY IS STRAIGHT STILL WEARING MOST OF ITS ORIGINAL PAINT, I HAD SPRAYED PRIMER ON THE ROOF AND HOOD YEARS BACK AND NOW IT HAS A HAZE OF SURFACE RUST BUT NOT TERRIBLE. THE FENDERS AND DOORS HAVE VERY LITTLE TO NO RUST THRU SHOWING BUT I AM SURE IT MAY NEED SOMETHING SOMEWHERE. THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS DOOR STILL HAS THE VIN STICKER AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF RUST SHOWING ON THE BOTTOM INNER SIDE. THERE IS A VERY SMALL BIT SHOWING ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASS DOOR AS WELL. THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER HAS HAD A SMALL DENT REPAIRED AT SOME POINT YEARS BACK BUT NOT BAD. THE WORST OF IT IS THE LEFT REAR QUARTER WHICH HAS RUST ARROUND THE REAR PORTION OF THE LIP AND BOTTOM BUT NO WHERE AS BAD AS THE OTHER 70 71 TORINO GT CARS FOR SALE ON HERE AT THIS TIME. THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF RUST AT THE BOTTOM THAT WILL FIX EASY. THE TRUNK FLOOR IS REALLY PRETTY GOOD WITH VERY LITTLE RUST. THE REAR SPLASH PAN IS IN THE TRUNK. THE TRUNK LID HAS RUST BUT A GOOD GT TRUNK LID IS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR. THE ROOF IS STRAIGHT WITH MINOR SURFACE RUST. THE REAR WINDOW AND THE SIDE GLASS IS GOOD. THE WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED. THE HOOD HAS LIGHT SURFACE RUST AND A SMALL 1/4 HOLE WHERE IT CONTACTS THE LOWER BRACE. THE GT EMBLEM FOR THE GRILL IS INCLUDED WHICH IS TOUGH TO FIND AND EXPENSIVE. THE GRILL HAS A COUPLE OF CRACKS BUT WILL REPAIR. THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS ARE STRAIGHT AND RECHROMEABLE. THE REAR FLOORS ARE DECENT WITH ONLY MINOR RUST THROUGH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SHOWING IN THE PICTURES. THE LEFT FRONT FLOOR HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF RUST THAT WILL FIX. THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR IS BAD AND WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. ORIGINAL FLOORS FROM ANOTHER TORINO COME WITH THE CAR TO FIX IT EASILY AND CORRECTLY. I AM TRYING TO DESCRIBE THE CAR AS WELL AS POSSIBLE SO YOU ARE CLEAR WHAT NEEDS ATTENTION. THE DOOR PANELS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE, THE DASH PAD IS CRACKED WHICH IS TYPICAL, THE SEATS ARE GOOD WITH JUST MINOR TEARS.

THE CAR HAS A 351 CLEVELAND 2 BBL ENGINE , AUTO TRANS, 9 INCH REAR, DECENT MAGUNM 500 RIMS, POWER STEERING. THE COWL HAS TYPICAL TORINO RUST THAT WILL NEED REPAIR.

THIS IS A GREAT CAR TO RESTORE AND THE STARTING PRICE IS LOW AND GREAT COLORS.

PLEASE NOTE THE CAR IS BEING SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE , I CAN NOT LOCATE THE TITLE AT THIS TIME , I HAD IT BUT CAN'T FIND IT RIGHT NOW.

THE CAR IS SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. IT IS ADVERTISED LOCALLY AND WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION. WITH THE INCLUDE PARTS RESTORATION WILL BE MUCH EASIER.

INCLUDED WITH CAR

ORIGINAL GT TRUNK LID

GT GRILLE EMBLEM

2015 Ford Focus Electric hides in plain sight

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

The styling changes to the 2015 Ford Focus were shown off at the recent Geneva Motor Show, so what the EV version looks like is not that much of a surprise. Still, the 2015 Focus Electric is making its world debut here at the New York Auto Show, so we wanted to know what changes we are looking at compared to both the internal combustion engine version and the earlier EV models.
The exterior visual distinctions between the ICE and EV are minimal, and basically nonexistent from the A-pillar to the rear. Up front, you can see the charge port, of course, but the front fascia has also undergone a bit of an adjustment. The front doesn't have the ICE version's flattened grille and the EV's Ford logo creates a bump in the hood line where none exists on the ICE. The 2015's grille is also different than the one on the 2014 Focus Electric, being slightly smaller (you can see this better if you compare pictures in our new gallery above to these of the 2011 Focus Electric and these of the gas-powered 2015 Focus).
The updated 2015 interior - which we couldn't access ourselves - has things like a new center stack, improved cupholders and is basically identical between the gas and electric models. With the car off, you can't even tell if you're in an EV or ICE, Seema Bardwaj, the US brand manager for the Focus, told AutoblogGreen. The only things that are different, she said, are extra menu screens to show EV powertrain information to the driver.

How the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor became a reality

Wed, 01 May 2013

The camouflaged Ford F-150 SVT Raptor prototype captured above blazing its way across the desert during a test run left company engineers giggling in amazement, reveals Jamal Hameedi in a new Autoweek video. Ford's global performance vehicle chief engineer, accompanied by senior exterior designer Bruce Williams, sat down with the publication to discuss the concept and development of the automaker's super off-road F-150.
Designing a high-performance pickup in 2008, right when the cost of gasoline was going through the roof, seemed insane at the time, but the team pushed forward with the innovative vehicle regardless. The interview includes plenty of Ford B-roll footage as visual candy, and the conversations include discussions about exterior design, ride comfort, anti-lock brake tuning, suspension engineering, weight reduction and why it was necessary to make the Raptor visually different than Ford's standard F-150. The model's origin story is very interesting, and you can learn more about it by watching the video below.

Ford starting up 2.0L EcoBoost engine production in Ohio

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Joe Hinrichs, Ford's President of The Americas (pictured above), announced today that in late 2014, the automaker will be building the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder at its Cleveland Engine Plant, a move requiring a $200-million investment and the hiring of 450 new employees. European-built Ford products will continue to source this engine from the Valencia, Spain plant where all of these EcoBoost four-cylinder engines are currently built, and the new Cleveland engines will be used for all North American-made models.
Ford is planning to build its popular EcoBoost engines regionally to maximize production capacity and meet customer demand. Last year, Ford sold 334,364 vehicles with EcoBoost engines in the US alone, and that number is expected to swell to more than 500,000 by the end of this year, with global sales expected to total 1.6 million. By 2015, Ford says that 95 percent of its nameplates will offer an EcoBoost engine.
One such vehicle that could be adding an EcoBoost engine, according to Automotive News, is none other than the 2015 Ford Mustang. The report says that Ford could use either the 2.0-liter EcoBoost or an upcoming 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the sixth-generation pony car.
