Thanks for checking out our auction on this incredible very original 1957 Thunderbird. This is a really special car the (N code) Gun Metal Gray color is very rare and there are not many like it that we have seen with the(XH code) red interior. This T Bird is a true example of an unrestored and very original classic with the seat cover, door panels, carpet and dash pad recently replaced with correct equipment. All the chrome and stainless trim is original and in good condition.

This beautiful classic runs and drives great and is very reliable we upgraded it to an electronic ignition and installed a new correct 4bbl carb (we have the original) it starts easy and runs fabulous with no smoke and shifts properly as well and has power steering. The car has a wonderful history and we have lots of documentation tracing it back to 1970.The nice thing about this Thunderbird is its originality and low 20,000 miles even most of the paint on the side panels and doors are original. The car was optioned out in 1957 with a white soft top, windshield washer, electric windows, safety package (seat belts),heater and defrost, signal seek radio and tonneau cover giving it an MSRP of $3,304.42.Everything on the car works properly including the power windows with the exception of the clock and the tach. The hubcaps are in excellent shape with new Fury 2.5" whitewall radial tires which give it that original appearance yet give you excellent ride quality. We also have the original seatbelts which we cleaned and look amazing that will be reinstalled before delivery to its new owner as well as some extras (new correct floor mats and trunk mats ) and will be giving to the fortunate new owner. The T Bird does have a small oil leak that is minor but it is seeping and it is not leaking enough to have it adressed at this point and the convertible top itself is original and will need to be redone or replaced but is all there and intact and the frame in good condition.
Although this wonderful Classic is sold as is please take time to read our feedback and bid with confidence, these pictures where just taken.Transportation is the responsibility of the new owner we will assist any way we can with storing and loading,Florida residents must pay 6% sales tax and tag, transfer no dealer fees. Please feel free to email us with any questions or offers, thanks for looking and good luck!!

Ford rolls out diesel Focus ST at Goodwood [w/poll]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

If you're in the market for a hot hatch, there are some excellent choices at your disposal - especially if you live in Europe. But if you want a diesel, well, your choices become rather more limited. Volkswagen tends to that niche market with the Golf GTD (essentially an oil-burning version of the GTI available Stateside), but that's about the extent of it. The pleas of those looking for more diesel-burning hot hatch choices haven't fallen on deaf ears at Ford, with the Blue Oval not only rolling out a facelifted gas-powered Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, but also a new diesel version as well.
The diesel Focus ST (which we hope and pray isn't marketed as the STD) packs a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four producing 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to propel the oil-burning hot hatch to 62 in 8.1 seconds en route to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. With less power and only slightly more torque, that makes the diesel Focus ST considerably slower than the gasoline one, which packs 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, runs to 62 in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 154 mph, but (in a testament to how far particulate filters have come) the diesel model cuts carbon emissions by nearly a third compared to the petrol version and returns about 50-percent better fuel economy, which makes that much more of a difference in markets where diesel is already priced better than gasoline at the pump.
For buyers who wouldn't consider anything other than a diesel, it also represents 23-percent more power than the previous top-level diesel Focus. The VW Golf GTD, for reference, offers up 181 hp (just 1 horse less), 280 lb-ft (15 fewer torques) but is somehow estimated to reach 60 in a considerably fleeter 7.4 seconds.

Ford confirms launch of new Tourneo vans and Ecosport in Europe for Geneva

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

We've already seen plenty of what the Geneva Motor Show will have in store for us in less than two weeks, but most of the confirmed debuts that were announced so far have generally been luxury or performance cars. Ford, on the other hand, will be showing off a couple of its new family-friendly models for European buyers to enjoy.
On the larger side of things, the full range of Tourneo vans (shown above) will be on display, including the introduction of the new Tourneo Courier model, but Ford will also be showing off the all-new EcoSport crossover, which is based on the automaker's Global B platform and will be positioned beneath the Kuga, better known here as the Escape. The subcompact EcoSport was originally unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last April.

Hyundai, BMW and Ford win Concept Vehicle of the Year awards

Sat, 06 Jul 2013

More than two dozen jurors started with a pool of 23 concept cars introduced at the most recent Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto and New York auto shows, then pared it down to three winners in three categories for the twelfth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards. The trophy-bearers are said to be those "vehicles most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry," and lead their classes in the Concept Car, Concept Truck and Production Preview divisions.
Hyundai had two cars as finalists for the Concept Car category, the competition boiled down to the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept, Veloster C3 Roll Top, Honda EV-STER and the Toyota Corolla Furia. It won with the HCD-14 Genesis that was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show, a sharp sedan that sharply divided opinion between those who thought it was too much, those who thought it was too much Audi A7, and those who thought it was perfect. The award panel's judges, however, thought so much of it that it's got two awards in one sitting, not only taking concept car honors, but because it earned the highest overall score in the competition it also takes the crown for Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2013.
The final selection in the Concept Truck category was down to the Ford Atlas, Kia Cross GT, Nissan Resonance and Volkswagen Cross Blue. The Ford Atlas took the silverware, after also winning the Eyes on Design award - shared with the Nissan Resonance - at the Detroit Auto Show where it was introduced.
