YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1992 FORD THUNDERBIRD SUPER COUPE 3.8L SC. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAD THE CAR PAINTED LAST YEAR PROFESSIONALLY BY THE FORD DEALER I WORK AT. THE PAINT CODE IS UG - PLATINUM WHITE PEARL METALLIC. IT IS A TRI COAT PEARL, VERY PRETTY COLOR. THE ONLY ISSUE WITH THE CAR IS THAT THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE IS CRACKED. I HAVE A MINT CONDITION DASHBOARD THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR IF YOU CHOOSE TO FIX IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH BLOWN HEAD GASKETS. WHILE WORKING AT FORD AS A TECHNICIAN I REPLACED BOTH CYLINDER HEADS, USED ARP RACING HEAD STUDS AND FASTENERS. THE BOTTOM END DID NOT GET AFFECTED BY THE HEAD GASKETS BEING BLOWN. THE ENGINE RUNS EXCELLENT. IT ALSO HAD A BLOW AOD4 AUTOMATIC ORIGINALLY, I ENDED UP PUTTING A M5R2 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND PEDAL ASSEMBLY DIRECT FIT INTO THE CAR FROM A DONOR T-BIRD I OWNED. THE CAR IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME AND OWNER TO DRIVE IT. I DO NOT HAVE THE NEED FOR A TWO DOOR CAR ANYMORE BECAUSE THE FAMILY IS GETTING BIGGER. Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft
Tue, 07 Jan 2014In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.

Wed, 06 Nov 2013Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.
Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines

It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.
