Here up for auction is my pride and joy 1960 Ford Thunderbird. The car runs and drives great. I drive it everyday to work and home. The car has all new brake lines, hard and soft, brand new NAPA master cyl. 4 new wheel cyl. And all new shoes. A new fuel tank and lines to the front, with new pump and rebuilt carb. The front tires are new Pirelli 15" tires with VERY NICE 57' CADILLAC HUBCAPS!!! The rear tires are new as well they are just stock 14" with out hubcaps. The engine got a basic tune up all new rubber hoses and belts, new thermostat and GM style one wire chrome high output alt. The engine runs very well but is over 50 years old and has a couple of gasket leaks and the flywheel makes a noise in the bell housing at very low RPM(when you service these old trannys with newer parts sometimes there are clearance issues i belive the inside of the bell housing needs ground down in one spot). The interior is very nice having all new head liner, dash cover, carpet(full dynomatted floor under carpet),and a very nice Alpine Bluetooth stereo that connects to iPhones. All gauges including speedo, temp, and fuel level are in working order. The front and rear seats are not recovered but are in descent shape(when recovered they will need new foam). All interior garnish moldings have been rechromed exe. visors. But interior is 100%. There is a crack in the drivers door glass. The out side of the car is all body worked and lined up with shave door handles, trunk lock cyl, and rounded front hood corners and is in a grey primer with guide coat. I have all trim parts including hood scoop and headlight rings and many, many other parts including extra front and rear seats, two extra bumpers in really good shape, and a very large bin full of any kind of trim part you can think of + many more parts hanging on the wall. Winner can take it all or pick through whatever they want. I was going to paint the car Firemist Gold like the engine bay and paint can go with vehicle if you like. The car is very fun to drive. And you get a lot of attention just driving around. The car is located in Grand Junction Co. I personally would drive this car anywhere(checking fluids regularly and keeping a close eye on the gauges) but I am the type of person that likes driving old stuff. The old style brakes and a lot of bump steer in the old school steering does not make it easy to highway drive, but cruises nice at 70. This is a nice car that I hate to get rid of but the times require sale. My lose your gain!! Please feel free to call me with any further questions. Rich(772)485-3053. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Thanks. Good luck.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue
Tue, 28 May 2013We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
Ford builds one-off 50th anniversary Mustang Convertible for charity
Thu, 08 May 2014At the New York Auto Show this year, Ford revealed a special-edition Mustang to honor the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples will be made, all of them fixed-roof coupes. But the Blue Oval automaker has just announced that it's also building a single 50 Years edition convertible that it will raffled off for charity.
The first production example of the new Mustang Convertible to roll off the line this fall, this one-off will pack many of the features on the 50 Years coupe, including its white paintjob, chrome trim, aluminum dashboard, two-tone upholstery, contrast stitching, special 19-inch wheels and special-edition badging throughout.
This unique cabrio will also be fitted with a special performance pack including Pirelli PZero rubber, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential to help get the 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque from the 5.0-liter V8 through the six-speed manual transmission and down to the road. It'll also feature a serial plaque with the number 0001 of 0001 and chairman Bill Ford's signature.
Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown
Fri, 10 Jan 2014You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
