Up for sale is my 1988 Ford Ranger STX. Today STX is basically a sticker. This STX has 21 up-graded suspension parts than all other 4X4 Rangers of the time. Plus it has the Appearance Package that not all of them recieved. That package had the roll bar, brush guard, tubular rear bumper, off-road lights, fog lights, stripes, and badges. Its a really nice truck all the way around. It drives like a brand new vehicle rides firm but not stiff. Everything performs perfect electrical, brakes, engine, drivetrain all works perfect. With the exception of a squeaky speedo cable. Prolly just needs some lube. It works good not off speed or jumping needle only a little squeaky most people prolly would never notice it. No major flaws anywhere. Its just as nice as it ever was. The engine is all stock but we painted it black and tan to match the outside. Its really pretty fun at car shows its not the same thing every one else has people like to talk about it. I see it as a collector but could be driven daily if you take care of it some 2.9 engines last over 300,000. 20 MPG about all the time city or highway but does good on the highway 3.73 gear. If you were to buy it you could definitely drive home. Within the last 500 miles its had new tires, shocks, belts, hoses, valve cover gaskets, radiator, and oil change. The exhaust doesnt have converters. Its a resonator with chambered flowmaster style muffler 3" single in dual 2.5" out. Sounds really good close to a v8 rumble no whinny top end like most v6 exhausts. If you want it shipped that will be up to you or you can drive away. My phone number is 765-977-0091 call if you have any questions or message me. Thanks for looking!

Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
