For sale in our one-owner 1978 Ford Ranchero GT.  This vehicle has been in our family since new.  Originally a medium blue with silver GT graphics, it was unfortunatly repainted a dust tan about 12 years ago.

This is a ALL numbers matching vehicle.

It has never been in an accident and has spent it's entire life in the southern California desert. All service documentation in included since new.  The vehicle starts right up, drives well, stops well and is currently registered and occaisionally used for light hauling (it was used 12/8/13 to move a 7' sofa and two rocking chairs)

Recent repairs include:

New master Cylinder

Original Carb rebuilt

Mufflers (2) replaced

This car is a true survivor!

The air is the only item currently not functioning; One hose has a leak and it just isn't used enough to fix it.  It is the original R-12 system and is complete.

It has air shocks installed in the rear to allow hauling heavier items without sagging.

The interioor is in good shape, the cloth seats are original and not torn, the carpet is present and needs cleaning or replace, headlinner sags in one corner and should be replace, the dash has several cracls and should be replace or cover installed, door cards are good, manual windows both work well, all glass is in good condition with no cracks or de-lamination.

All stainless trim is in-place and un-damaged, the bed is very straight, bumpers are very clean and straight, Original gas cap is missing.

The underside is straight with only light surface rust, floors are perfect and there is no known corrosion issues, no paint bubbles. (Yes, it is an ugly color)

I very much want to sell this car to someone that will clean her up to her prior condition.

I can assist with shipping to the US or overseas. Port of shippment would be Long Beach CA.

Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.

Enterprise customer billed $47k for Mustang stolen from rental lot

Sun, 05 Jan 2014

A weekend rental of a Ford Mustang GT Convertible sounds like a nice, relaxing way to burn some gas, but one Nova Scotia woman's two-day rental is turning into a months-long headache. In early October, Kristen Cockerill picked up the Mustang from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and she returned it the following day as stipulated by the rental contract. Unfortunately, she dropped the car off on a Sunday - a day on which the particular Enterprise office is closed - and the car ended up being stolen overnight.
Now, two months later, CBC reports that Cockerill received a bill from Enterprise for the full replacement of the car totaling $47,271 (a base 2014 Mustang GT Convertible currently costs $40,349 in Canada). As it turns out, the fine print in the contract says that the renter is responsible for cars dropped off after hours until it can be inspected the next business day - this is also reflected on the key drop seen in the news report video, which states "vehicles returned after hours are the responsibility of the renter until inspected on the next business day."
It's not clear how much, if any, of that amount Cockerhill will be responsible for once her insurance company gets involved, but if the insurance company refuses to pay, Enterprise will bill the amount to the credit card she provided during her rental. While this ordeal is far over for Cockerhill, it's a good reminder for the rest of us to always read the fine print.

Ken Block hoons his Ford F-150 RaptorTrax on the slopes

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Ken Block drives Fords. Hoons the heck out of 'em, actually. Mostly Fiestas, but also the occasional Focus or Mustang. But earlier this year, the Gymkhana guru revealed his baddest Ford yet: an F-150 SVT Raptor on tracks. And true to form, here he is putting it to the test in the latest video from Monster Energy and Hoonigan Racing.
Filmed at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC, the video pairs Block up with snowboarders Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss for some deep-powder action. You'll want to watch the video for yourself, but the bottom line is that the RaptorTrax beats the heck out of waiting on line for the ski lift. It's enough to make us start to look forward to winter... almost.
