1961 Ranchero / Ranger 4x4 custom

Up for AUCTION:

THIS IS A PROJECT TRUCK obviously not finished
but a great start that runs and drives, yes !
... PLEASE READ ON !

On the surface it looks like a 1961 Ranchero 4x4
(something Ford never made back in the day) and
underneath, its a 91 Ranger (or explorer, dont recall)
Ill find the info out under the hood on exactly what
yr chassis/drivetrain was used for the conversion.

The project has a great start and its a driver ( or was until
we took out the windshield and side glass preparing it for
an up coming paint job). It comes with a brand new windshield
which we where going to install once it was painted.

Its titled as an 61 Ranchero but has all the driving and creature
comforts of a Newer Ranger Truck

This beast gets looks all the time, you cant drive it around
without drawing a small crowd, even just getting gas.
Basically the last owner took the body of a 61 Ranchero and
fitted it over and around the chassis and bulkhead of a 91
Ford Bulkhead.

Shows 95k aprox on the odometer, prob original

DRIVETRAIN: under the hood, the stock and factory 2.3L 4 cyl
with EFI, working AC,  PS connected to the explorers 5 spd trans
and all the original 4x4 drivetrain, including both diffs etc.
Motor starts and runs like it should, shifts great and is really a
cool driver mechanically speaking. HP rating is probably around 170
in stock form I think.

Mickey Thompson Alloy 15x7 Rims with some almost new Michelin
AT tires too. including a matching 5th spare wheel.
The rear has a small 2" lift to help level it out and for tire clearance.

INTERIOR: the dash cluster was also fitted to the stock dash and
best I can tell, all the gauges from the explorer still work.
The climate controls are from the explorer too, as is the steering
column etc too. They are not fully finished for the best look
but they are functional for now. They will need some finishing inside
for a better finish overall. The bench seat is also out of the explorer
in pretty nice shape, but it really sits too close to the steering wheel
and I believe the mounting needs to be lowered some for more
clearance between your legs and sw.
Rest of the interior is sparse, waiting to be finished, painted and
redone the way the new owner chooses. We did not remove the
back window.

Long time ago the bed was rhino lined in black, it could prob
be redone soon. ALL the parts we took off will come in boxes in
the bed of the truck. Window glass, hardware, handles etc.
(see pics)

EXTERIOR: Body is a nice Az body, but still did get a little rust around
the rear upper wheelwells and will need some work there, but check
out the pics, for the most part its a really rust free body. It has some
dents here and there for an older truck and the bumpers have some
minor damage. I was going to paint the bumpers body color or a
contrasting color to whatever color the body was painted and due
away with the chrome.

Its so cool, on the outside its old school
pop the hood and its all modern fuel injected 4 cyl motor
with a 5 spd.
The factory ECM is still in the pass side kick panel area.

This car is mostly rust free Arizona 4x4 , far from perfect

its still 1 of a kind

MOST OF THESE PICS WHERE TAKEN LAST YR
The only difference now is we did some more sanding on the
truck and started doing a little body work since then, so
many areas now the primer has been sanded thru . Also the side
glass has been removed and had the doors off during some
body work time.

Youll notice in the pics, all primered and in some body work
being done in the pics, those are the more current pics just
taken over the weekend.

Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

Hope you like the detailed pics
The interior floors are in great shape as in much of the body
Im sure there is some old repairs done over the years
but it is a Project truck in the works !

of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.

2014 Ford Fiesta ST

Concentrated ST Formula Proves Just As Potent
I'm not the jealous type... usually. But I will fully admit to being somewhat of a Pouty Polly when I read executive editor Chris Paukert's report after driving the then-new 2013 Ford Focus ST through the impossibly pretty southern French Alps region last June. I feel like a broken record saying this yet again, but hot hatchbacks hold a special place in my heart. And while I'm always giddy to drive any sort of small, turbocharged three- or five-door at home in Detroit, my jealousy was indeed piqued after hearing Paukert tell about the challenging yet breathtaking roads he encountered while driving the flamin' yellow Focus. You know, the sort of roads that, from above, look like carelessly drizzled lines of icing on the frosted Alpen caps.
Several months later, I found myself piloting a Focus ST just west of metro Detroit, pitting it head-to-head against one of Autoblog's perennial favorite cars, the Volkswagen GTI. It was fantastic - enough so that I fully stand behind my statement that in terms of balls-out performance, the Focus ST cannot be beat as far as today's front-wheel-drive hatches are concerned.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
