This is a beautiful 1938 Ford Truck, a head turner, took it around the block for the first time and heads where turning. This Baby runs great and straight. Hate to see it go after working on it for 2 years but my daughter is  graduating from college and need to pay off her school.  It has a 4" Square tube as a frame, the front 3 1/2' is from a 1932 ford frame, the frame was Z'ed under the cab and the cab was chopped 4"s from the top to give it the sleek look.  It has a 350 Chevy SBC, with a TH350 Automatic Transmission with an aluminum cooler under the passenger body.  The transmission has a 24" Lokar stick shift that gives it the high shifting look. It has a 32 ford Aluminum radiator along with an electric fan that has a seperate on/off switch. A 32 Ford Grill with a personal built Spider Web for decoration. The wind shield and the rear window frames were also chopped to fit  the windows, they also have new rubber seals, the wind shield opens up with side brackets and a Bench Seat that was re-apostered to match the colors of the truck. Headlights, brake lights, parking lights and Gauge lights work, has the Ididit 24 circuit wiring harness, wires that were not used in the truck were wrapped and tuck for further use if needed. Doors handles where shaved and have the bear claw latch, I have the door poppers (but not installed). The Rear End is from an 02 Chevy S10 Blazer, it has Disc brakes all around with a Mustang proportioning valve. The Steering is from Speedway a13" steering wheel, 32" steering shaft also from speedway.  The gauges are from Dolpine Gauges, A 16 Gal Aluminum Spin was put in, the front tires are P205/65R15 and the rear tires are P225/70R15 with Baby Moons all are fairly new. The paint job was just done recently, it is a Semi-flat black with gloss hot rod red. I have the door panels which are being painted. Ford's Farley apologizes for saying Blue Oval tracks customers with GPS

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Ford marketing head honcho Jim Farley made waves at CES this week by telling show attendees, "We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it." according to a report by Business Insider. Farley continued by saying, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone."
Farley has since amended his statement, saying that Ford dose not, in fact, track its customers in their cars "without their approval or consent."
Apparently carried away with a hypothetical notion, Farley was attempting to describe how Ford might be able to employee aggregated user data for things like accurate traffic reporting and pattern spotting. A Ford spokesperson confirmed with Business Insider that its GPS units are not sharing the whereabouts of drivers, though there are a few on-board services that might do so. After opting in to the services (and presumably being made aware of any/all tracking and data collection), Ford's Sync Services Directions and Crew Chief software do, in fact, allow data collection as a means of improving both systems. Farley added that the opt-in data is not shared, even when being tracked.

2015 Ford F-150 enters production

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

Ford has given the F-150 a dramatic makeover for 2015, switching to an aluminum body that helps reduce weight by about 700 pounds. Because the truck is dramatically different, Ford also had to change the way it makes the F-150, so we went inside its sprawling factory in Dearborn, MI, this week to see the Blue Oval's new manufacturing techniques in action.
The company has added 850 jobs at the site and upgraded its stamping and tool and die facilities. The body shop is also modernized, and it has been fitted with 500 new robots that join the structures together. The first 2015 F-150 rolled off the line on Tuesday, and the trucks will begin arriving in dealerships in December. Get a closer look at the F-150's unique assembly process in our video.

Ford making Fusion production moves to challenge Camry on volume

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Ford Fusion may already beat the Toyota Camry in terms of models offered, transaction price and sales increase so far this year, but if the Fusion wants to make a run at the title of best-selling car in the US, Bloomberg reminds us that volume is key. Opening a second production line at the Flat Rock, MI assembly plant will reportedly allow Ford to produce around 350,000 Fusions annually, which compares Toyota's ability to crank out 475,000 Camrys and Honda's capacity to build around 450,000 Accords.
For the Fusion, that's an extra 100,000 units compared to the car's current pace, and the article adds that the Fusion is "Ford's best shot" to regain the passenger car sales crown - a title it (or any other US automaker, for that matter) hasn't held since the mid-1990s. Despite hiccups with recalls and fuel economy numbers, the Ford Fusion is still red hot when it comes to sales. Fusion sales are up 13 percent so far this year (compared to a 0.6 percent decrease for Camry), and its average transaction price of $26,343 is about $2,300 more than its rival from Toyota.
The Fusion's popularity has helped Ford improve its sales in California; the Dearborn-based automaker has a market share of 18 percent in the state, which is just a fraction of a percentage behind Honda. And this popularity should continue as Ford ups Fusion production and expands the model lineup even further for 2014 with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine soon to become an option.
