UP FOR SALE IS MY 1952 FORD F1  PICK UP TRUCK.   I AM THE THIRD OWNER AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN CALIFORNIA, IT WAS RESTORED IN 1990  AND IS PRETTY MUCH ALL STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE ENGINE WAS CHANGED DURING RESTORATION TO A 1964 FORD 260 V8. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL 3 SPEED FLOOR SHIFT TRANS AND STOCK REAR END.   THE TRUCK IS 98% RUST FREE . THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT BUT DOE'S HAVE TWO SMALL DINGS ON THE HOOD.  (SHOWN IN PICTURE) THE PAINT IS ALMOST 25 YEARS OLD AND STILL LOOKS VERY PRESENTABLE OTHER THAN A FEW LITTLE SCRATCES. THE INTERIOR IS NICE CONDITION AND THE HEATER,DEFROSTER,WIPERS,GAUGES ALL SEEM TO WORK AS THEY SHOULD. STILL HAS A 1980s-1990s MIAMI VICE PHONE, NOT WORKING!     THE MOTOR RUNS SUPER STRONG AND HAS NO LEAKS, ALWAYS RUNS COOL.THE TRANS IS EXCELLENT CONDITION, SHIFS SMOOTH AND QUIET. BRAKES STOP VERY GOOD, STEERING FEELS TIGHT AND GOES DOWN THE ROAD GREAT. I BELIEVE THE WOOD IN THE BED IS ORIGINAL AND COULD USE REPLACING BUT IS STILL SOLID JUST NOT TOO PRETTY.ALL THE GLASS WAS REPLACED AND HAS THE GREEN TINT.  ON A SCALE OF 1-10 I WOULD SAY ITS AN EASY 8 1/2.   VERY DEPENDABLE  WELL MAINTAINED AND ALWAYS GARAGED.   THE TRUCK HAS A CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE IN MY NAME WITH CURRENT REGISTRATION.   IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEED BACK YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID. Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]

Sun, 16 Jun 2013

In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.
