Originally purchased from Galpin Ford and immediately upgraded by GAS..(Galpin AutoSports). Car was upgraded with Stainless Steel Basani exhaust that really sounds great. The Car was slightly lowered including wheels that were upgraded to 20" Boss Motorsports wheels front and rear. Tires are the best Continental Extreme Contact DW's. 255/35 ZR 20's in the front and 275/35 ZR 20's in the rear. All of the above created a car with an awesome stance and viscious sound. Also Maximum Motorsport Camber plates were added to maintain proper front end wheel alignment. A Rousch Racing Strut Tower Brace was added for superior front end stability. The hood sports the factory "Shaker" hood scoop that adds to the high performance look of the car.Windows were tinted by Black Diamond Window Tint in Santa Clarita. Side view mirrors were painted white to match the rest of the car which also adds to its customization. Always maintained and serviced with only synthetic oils and OEM parts. The car has the optional factory Shaker Stereo /CD player that truly rocks. This is a great car for a Mustang enthusiast. It turns heads wherever it goes. Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70
Sun, 20 Jul 2014We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.
Ford Focus 1.0-liter Ecoboost to only get manual trans in US
Sun, 23 Feb 2014Photos of the 2015 Ford Focus leaked earlier today, but now we're able to tell you more details of the global five-door hatchback. Bucking automaker's troubling trend of ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatics, Ford says the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine will come only in a six-speed manual in the US, because, well, American drivers aren't as sophisticated as our European brothers and sisters.
Ford didn't come out and say it that way, but it has found American drivers are more prone to complain about automatics in smaller-engine cars, Raj Nair, Ford's group vice president of global product development, said at a press conference last week. The recent JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study backs up Ford's claims, pointing out that drivers are complaining about rough transmission shifts, engine hesitation and lack of power, particularly in small cars. In Europe and other parts of the world, drivers seem to understand the quirks of these pint-sized engines, Nair said, so they'll have the option to buy an automatic. Ford is working on tuning its dual-clutch transmissions to make them more amenable to American driver's tastes.
Ford will show off the refreshed 2015 Focus at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The car is due for an update, having been on sale in its current form since 2012. The automaker said it is jamming the car full of new technology - like a USB port that promises to charge your phone in half the time as a regular USB port.
